been a while for a "Spritz by Fritz" update, "Poncho Bil" will probably post his own thread on his '57 Star chief but heres a pic of him working on an engine update. As for me (with the help of the famous Poncho Bil) finally got "Ed Big Daddy Roth's" "Druid Princess" looking the way it did when it left Maywood CA. in 1966! FRITZ
Fritz awesom job man. When I worked for Big Daddy I use to tell him to paint the car back to what it was and he would allways say the way it looks is the way it`s gonn stay.Glad your doing it right. You da man lol................ Endsville Franco..............
Young ones should be filled in that this car was built to be used on "The Adams Family" TV show, but they cancelled it before they could use the car. Looks MUCH better!!!
Hey "Von Franco" long time man. yah I like it much much better in the "Watson" paint job. It was just like looking at cat puke before! I tell ya even after Talking to Larry Watson ( my new fav' crazy guy!) getting the right spray gun and veiling lacqure its still a ***** to do "Veiling" Larry just has the touch i guess. waite till i get the coffin and fenders back on!!!....... Yer the ginchiest Dude FRITZ
And then this happened... Fritz, you're the hardest working man in show-biz. Public thanx for stuff Bil
I always thought the Druid Princess was in a museum some where. I didn't know it was privately owned, or that it needed to be restored. Do you have some before pictures ? The last pictures I saw, the Druid Princess looked good. Congrats on owning and restoring the car...way cool!!!
Nah I dont own it, Im just the help, LOL The "Druid Princess" is owned by the American Car Collection museum in Winnemucca NV. Brand new place that should open in 2008 FRITZ
Hope he is gonna make it run! I've been planning on building a copy of that car for years, but make it a driver!
That place is gonna ROCK! that guy has collected so much cool stuff, that it will put the Petersen museum/Meyer storage garage to shame. I just hope the collection stays together for a long time.
Hey Bad Bob, The Princess is a "running & driving " car I dont think I'd be tooling on the parkway with it, but around the block a few times aint out of the question FRITZ
I'm gonna build a driver, version. I've talked to Daryl about it. He thinks it would be cool. Some things will be hard to duplicate, but it will look real close. Won't tell you it will be called until I debut it. I have many pic's and drawings of it. Gonna try to have it on the road by next summer. Like i've mentioned before,Big Daddy was my Godfather, and I spent alot of time around his shop, house and with his family. Maybe i'll send you some pic's when I get it going,Fritz. My first choice was a "Roadagent" clone.
so I guess this qualifies as a "progress" photo.. more: http://public.fotki.com/sawzallshop/some_photos_from/2007/spritz_by_fritz/
