may have a line on one but the frame is supposedly shot so it may be just as easy to do a swap...ken....
I've heard of a few that do S-10 swaps. Do a member search on "Lakota", he has an F-1 that he is doing an S-10 swap.
He's got a good website as well. I found that when I was getting ready to start my 54 Chevy truck on an S10. Good info all the way around.
another alternative for the '48-53 Ford trucks would be the Dodge Dakota frame (early dakotas have the more desirable 5 lug wheels). A little wider track than the S-10, closer to the original track of truck.
we put a 79 full size ford under an f1 put 2 new frame rails to mount the bed a new crossmember at the rear it had a 302 automatic body sat real low had to raise it back up to clear speed bumps
I have a stalled [actually too many projects]F1 project that I would sell, frame has been boxed, new springs, new kingpins, disc brake conversion, maverick rear, mounts set up for sbc and 700r4, 4 new t/a radials, p/s conversion, cab with 4 doors, stakebed with steel racks from an s10, no front fenders, think I had almost 2 grand in the new parts, wold take 1500.00 for all of it. All apart again for sandblasting and painting [not done]. Use the frame and sell the rest?pm if interested.
