I just got my coupe back from the painter. He's still working on the doors and decklid, but I'm pretty happy with the result so far.

Thanx guys! It is a dark blue/purple color. In the shade the car looks dark blue but in the sun it gets a purple 'glow'.

That looks really good! Are you going to run a Desoto grille like the "Bluebird" BTW, can we get a better look at that poster hanging on your wall! Please!

Richard, aka, RoyalCrown32 asked for more info about The Bluebird. The car was built by Skip LaJoie and Ed Redding. It ran C/altered cl*** at the drags and was a regular at the Autorama shows. It's a 37 DeSoto grille with a T-Bird hood scoop. The car ran an injected 312 Y-block. That color pic I showed was from Safariknut here on the HAMB. He probably knows much more about the car. Here is a shot of the back of the car. Pic from the Ron San Giovanni collection that was in the book, Cool Cars Square Roll Bars.

The car is now owned by Dennis Slo***. It's is all different now. It's un-channeled it's got a huge blower and big slicks on the back. It's still a mean mofo.

Dennis Slocomb bought the car around 1973 from Davey Jones in Groton MA.He is about 6'5'' and could not drive far with it channeled. He has since restored the nose and has it displayed on a stand to honor the cars heritage.
