Drove the Lincoln to work for the first time yesterday and went a little out of the way to take some pictures. Played around the colors a bit in paint shop pro. No there's no ghosts in the back seats, just where I've got my fabric and batting piled for the interior.

Need to get some WWW's on there but hey I picked up an angle grinder that appears to be brand new at a yardsale yesterday for $10 and need to get some 52 Ohio plates on there but I'm so lucky that that every time I check ebay I find a selection of 51 and 53 available.

The sepia tone pics look like they could have been taken in '52. That's how most of the pics in my families album look today!

52 used 51 plates with a sticker for the windshield and I presume you got the trans rebuilt, there was someone who sells plates at the dayton are swapmeets that had a pair of 51 plates with the 52 sticker but I think they were pricey. Jeff

thanks for the plate info, I got a 53 caddy hydro from a hamb member, said it has a few hundred miles on it since rebuild, so far so good. Swapped them out myself at the base auto hobby shop, 8-9 hours of labor and some scratches and bruising.

Did you have to change anything to get it to fit the lincoln. Jeff

the lincoln bellhousing had to go on, the bellhousings where quite a bit different and I took the advice of other people and used the lincolns torus and torus cover even though they appeared to be indentical.

benefit of using my torus cover was it had marks to line up the dowells though. Only oddity I came across was the torque specs for the large nut that holds the torus on, I've got 3 different hyrdo manuals but none for a 53 caddy. the 52-55 lincoln and the pontiac manual which is 49-54 or something both say to torque it to about 50-55lbs and I've got a generic hyrdo manual that covers 10 or so different mfrs for 54-55 and it lists the 50-55lbs and says except cadillac, torque to 30-35. I decided to go with 40lbs since I didnt know which one it was falling under.

previous owner seemed to have been going for some slight hot rod touches. I managed to talk to the old guy on the phone he was hard to understand but he painted it black said he paints all of his cars black. Nekkid lady hood ornament, bobble hoola girl glued to the dash, I replaced the vent window glass but they had Clay Smith cam stickers and some sort of hot rod chick sticker, 8 ball antenna topper, the head light covers and some one told me the rear view mirrors are aftermarket.
