  3. Man Ryan, I'd love to know...

Sounds like Zak had seen it a few years at Hershey, maybe he can remember something. The body and grill were together when I got it, but it was on a stock frame in nice condition. I have that here and plan to really build the ch***is right sometime down the road.
The ch***is under it now I got from Hamber Creeper Larry out in Ca. It was this modified that ran like hell. Larry offered up a killler deal on this thing awhile back and I was lucky enough to grab in time, even came with a 34 coupe ***le.
Larry had shoetened the frame like 9 inches, and bobbed both front and rear horns. I bought it to do just this, get it on the road quick while I built the other ch***is right. All it needed was a Flattie and C-4 and it was ready to go... But I'm puttin the Flattie in my 32 roadster which I am taking my time with. Larry's frame needed to be lengthend to be able to work for me. I was going to add it in the back where Larry took it out, but instead opted to move the front crossmember out to where the frame was bobbed and also lengthend the wishbones to stay in there stock location. Something I would encourage everyone to do, looks natural, and turns on a dime without the tires rubbing...amazing!

I would love for someone to reconize the grill and help me find some leads about this car...pretty sure it came out of Pa.

  4. Modified...by Creeper Larry! Thanks Larry...

Rear was the only thing that stayed in place. Front crossmember was moved forward 7 inches, steering box moved forward with custom mounting, shocks, steering set up changed, etc. Wishbones lengthened. 34 brake ***embly was also moved, new trans and motor mounts, basically everything was changed but the rear.

It was just nice to have mostly all the parts there. Anything else we needed was robbed off a build for a customer that will be replaced this week, new after market stuff... all that will be replaced with old stuff later.

i dont know anything about it....sure had a weird windsheild set-up though....i thought maybe it was some type of drag or dry lakes cl*** that needed a stock height windsheild...i guess coulda been circle track too?
i have a picture of it somewhere but for some reason i cant find it (before digital)

  7. Man that would be sick if you could find it... Hamb works wonders, seen it before. Hahaha.

thats a cool car, i would definitely save the paint for last. very very last, like when i got absolutely tired of looking at it.

  10. Doors now work... old latches and hinges still in good operating order...crazy.

Floors installed...couldn't borrow my buddies bead machine...so this will do for now. Not happy about doing things without the proper tools...but oh well. Couldn't see doing it all by hand and getting it done quick enough. No break, bead machine, or shear. I promise to buy one soon....

Decklid patched and now opens like a rumble lid. Apparently somone changed it way back, cause the rain gutter tells me it was a rumble.

Homemade gas pedal outta some old Model A linkage, I hate buying stuff when there is stuff in the yard that will work. Even its it not as pratical as buying something, its the little things that excite me about peoples personal hot rods like this that make it more unique...

Fitting a couple different 38/39 noses, a standard and a deluxe I guess. I would cut the beak off the the louvered one if I use it....what do you think? I can always swap out the 34 grill when I want, just want something a little different. Excited about a fun sheet metal project too. Gonna use aircraft fasteners that I bought on the Hamb.

I'm emmbarresed to show you guys these floors without beads in em, but I really just need to get the car on the road and have some fun... Summer is here. Now back to the garage...

What a killer *** stance but the patina rules and just reals me in and makes me want to here the story behind the scenes. It seperates it from other cars. Love to hear more about it and the progress as it goes

damn mel - that ****er is turning out really sweet. i remember drooling on the body when it was in your backyard at your old house. i was up at e-town on saturday & it was beat as hell. had a terribly ****ty day, aside from finding the pedals ive been looking for for my '53 schwinn.

my bike should be all done this weekend so maybe we'll have to meet up somewhere between my place & asbury - jackson cruise?

chelle & i are engaged & just bought a house so this month is pretty crazy. we settle on may 30. got a real garage now!

That is looking bad ***. I'm glad you're finally getting it on the road. I would vote for the deluxe, but the standard would look pretty cool too. But I think a standard with all the vents, defeats the streamling/Bonneville purpose.

We are going to have to meet somewhere with our '35 when it is done and take ****loads of pictures!

  21. Looks like it's coming along really well. Floor looks great! You don't need beads, they'rer overated! I love the picture of the cars in your backyard, it should be on the next H.A.M.B. calendar. I think the 38 nose is gonna look good, look forward to seeing a pic with the grill.

  22. Wow... Kiwi digs. You are the bead man, I love your stuff. With a house its sometimes tuff to buy the things I want or need, but at least we get by. The firewall is a temporary fix as well till I take the body off at some point to finness some stuff out. Patch panels got lost in the mail too...

Hello to all, hope to see you all sometime soon, I was away on vacation.

I want to take it to Latimore and race, but I dont have insurance or plates yet. And I can't trailer it... I do hope to go and support those guys...still have yet to meet the Showdown crew... Everybody always so busy.

Haven't really been working on the 34 since back, I have to fix a ton of stuff on that Green chopped T that I bought off the Hamb. Sold it, and the guys wants show paint, custom interior that I'm doing for the first time... well real interior anyway...welll almost real. Tons more to do... Do hope to see you all at Latimore one way or another... be well

Yeah Mel, that's looking good. I like it with the 34 grill, but the 38 sounds like it will work too. I look forward to seeing it.

Wow, KQQL story...I know this is an old post but I wanted to tell ya about when I met Mark....I was at a little show out in PA and was just chillin' next to my '29 RPU when a guy came up to me. He didnt look like a hot rodder and I was waiting for the questions to roll out like what year is that?? or did you drive that here?? He said is this your car? I said, "yes." Then he asked, Do you know anything about that axle. I said not really, I know its old...He said I chromed that axle when I was 16 years old in high school. I was like KQQL!!! He said that he owned alot of the parts on my RPU at one time...he then said that this show ****ed and he hated rat rods and pointed to the other cars there....He then told me his name was Mark Confourth and he builds "REAL HOT RODS" not this rat rod ****...he gave me his number cause I was looking for a Model A ***le at the time...real cool guy!! he does build the best...just funny how ya meet other cool hot rodders~ The '34 is way cool, I saw it last year at the Road Devils Peel Out! -Eric
