As many of you have noticed, there was an auction listed at the top of the page for about the last month for this '30 model 4 banger and trans, offered at auction to help send HAMBAndy to the Drags. Well, BIG PAULY was the winning bidder, and has graciously donated it back to the HAMB to be auctioned again! Thanks BIG PAULY! Here is the information as gathered from the previous auction. We'll run this one for another month and see what happens!

    Hey Everyone!

I wanted to offer up something in support of the drive to send Andy to the HAMB Drags this year. I've been chatting with Joe (Junkyard Dog32) at length about doing this and (I've even been battling the war department here at home as well) want to offer the motor and transmission out of my 1929 Ford Model AA truck up for auction to help in lieu of a larger monetary donation (which I cannot really afford right now).

Anyway, it is what I believe is a 1930 Flathead 4 cylinder engine (SN# 3,**X,**X), truck transmission, and all accessories that typically go with it - ie starter, generator, carb, etc. The head/cover does have about a 4" long crack in it (as seen in the pictures), but I have no idea as to what the internal composition of this motor is like. It does easily turn over by hand if that makes any difference.

I don't know what this is worth, but I'm not planning on using it in my truck buildup, so I figured it'd be a great donation to the cause. I don't know what shipping would be for anything, but I'll help with a HAMB relay, boxing and crating, transport to a shipper, or whatever - I'll help all I can.

With this auction you have one of several options:
    1) Purchase the entire engine and transmission
    2) Take what you need, leave the rest - I'll help pull parts, load you up, or whatever (I'll help with shipping as well)
    3) Bid, win, send your money, consider it a charitable donation and do nothing with this motor and transmission
    4) Buy it and donate it back to the HAMB to be auctioned again for support of the HAMB.

You choose what you want to do with it. As I said, I'm battling the war department here about 'giving' this setup away, but I figure I could use the karma in my life right now. After all, if it weren't for bad luck... yadda yadda yadda.... Murphy lives with me and makes up his laws here, so hopefully this'll help.

I'm not going to be able to make it this year, but I'm hoping to be able to do so next year so that I can meet Andy. If he's half the kid you guys who know him have said he is, I cannot wait to meet him myself and shake his hand. Good luck Andy, and have fun at the Drags!

If you have any questions about this motor, trans, or whatever, just let me know and we can go on from there. As for how long this needs to run, I'm going to defer that information to Joe, as he's the one with the master plan here.

Come on guys, step up here and make this as big as the HAMB can make it.

Bid big, bid often, and most of all... BID!

Almost 100 people have looked at this and no one has made a single bid! You win it, you don't have to take it if you don't want to!

I would love to bid, but shipping would kill me. Unless someone is coming out this way by chance "hint, hint to BenD."

It can sit here - I don't want to say forever - but for as long as need be. As I said, I'd help with shipping and relays or whatever works. You can also donate it back to sell again. It can go over on Ebay and the proceeds from that can go back across to his account as well. Either way it goes, I'm not too worried.

Desert rat, thanks for the bid! It gets us off and running!
