I'm new to the Dallas Ft Worth area. Actually in Lewisville.I moved from Va Beach,Va. Working for Bob Stallings/Gainsco racing Daytona Prototype team.Trying to get time to build my traditional 23T but working alot.Family is still in Va. trying to sell the house.Any way when were not on the road I'd like to find some cool hangouts with some cool cars, any suggestions on where to go.Thanks.
I moved to DFW a year ago so don't know everything. But the best show i went to last year was the good guys show at http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/ I found this list of some events. Might get you started. http://www.ecruisers.org/events calendar.htm Finding older car shows has been hard for me here. It seems there is a large following of modifying your car with neon lights and 24 inch rims down here. I could use some advice also.
give me a better idea of your likes / dislikes few other details, I'll see if I can point you in right direction
next swap meet (decent sized) June 23rd and 24th www.deanearhart.com --In Fort Worth @ La Grave field
I'd say the best place is....Austin. There are quite a few rodders around here, but it's very spread out and there are few regular hangouts. Keep an eye out for the Pistons and Paint car show in the fall. It grew a lot last year and was a lot of fun. BTW - I moved to DFW from Chesapeake (where I grew up) 6 years ago. You'll love it here. I honestly don't miss that area at all. Send ma a PM and I'll give you my contact information. I'm not too far away in Plano.
Hey PM me, i live in lewisville and my car club is pretty active in doing stuff around town. Would dig meeting you and maybe getting together.
Thanks guys this helps out some. I Pm'd a few of you guys with my info.I'm here in town untill June 6th then off to Watkins Glen for a 6hr endurance race with the Daytona Prototype.

It's kinda of funny but I really like the traditional style rods the best. But then I also like high tech hot rods too.I guess working for a race team I must be a gearhead.I like cars, all kinds except Jap **** neon lights and phonies.Cars from the 30's up to 60's.Not really into 4 doors ,but if it's all you got thats cool to as long as it's done tastefully.I used to work in a rod shop in Va. and built some really nice stuff up there. 41 Willy's with blown Inj 502.Traditional 34 Ford roadster with a scotts blown flathead. 50's style 34 3 window coupe red and flames,ZZ430 eng.Had lots of car art painted on by our own alliance member Igor.Restored a Bantam coupe altered for my dad with a GMC 6cyl.Orig.American magniseum wheels. My own Bright orange /white 55 Sedan delivery, now sold .I like the early stuff the best for sure.Current project a gl*** (I know It's not steel) 23T plans include tri power 348,57 chevy rear, turbo 350,Lots of old parts instead of catalog bought pieces.Tilting hardtop, cheater slicks whitewalls tach drive distributor amd other neat stuff. Thanks again.
