    This is too much, I can't stop laughing! It's like the "Messin' with Sasquatch" TV commercials.....but someone shaved his arms....

    what about the finned valley covers for these motors, they seem pretty hard to find???

  5. Try O'Brien's Truckers....Dennis makes them. I have one from him, via the now defunct Vintage Parts. Around US$80 I think.

    rare cause it dose not have the center port / Heat Riser ..I think it might be a race version.

    man.. yall are runnin a lot of really nice looking 390's. Too bad I can't seem to get mine to work. Any tips or tricks? I just can't seem to get one that doesn't smoke.

    heres a brochure from detroit. if you look close, it says designed by frank burrell.
    i had his son barry make me a intake for the caddy flat, in his fathers old patterns 2 years ago. nice guy!

    Burrell designed those flatty intakes for tanks in world war II, the tank ones were cast iron from what I understand, Not sure if they ever got used on tanks or not. His son makes one every now and then out of aluminium. After WWII he went on to design manifolds for Detroit Racing Equipment a**** other things., he also sold filled and milled heads for Flatty Caddy's too.

    burrels son barry did a round of 12 cadflat intakes in the early 90's. . and when i talked to him almost 3 years ago, he made 3. and he's working on another round again. pm me if you interested, i have his email adress.

    No stock valve covers are definitely cool looking, but some hopped-up engines need more clearance than stockers provide!
