I was telling my brother in law about the slightly off set 4v carb adapters I remembered seeing years ago at local speed shops (now defunct). They basically bolted to the intake and allowed you to position your carb either a little further forward, or rearward, depending on which way you installed them. It wasn't a BIG offset...like maybe a half inch or so...just moved the venturis back or forth a little to allow the carb to clear obstructions such as another carb, a distributor or whatever. (He bought an Offy dual quad manifold for his 348 and wants to run Holleys, but they won't quite fit. With the offset adapters I was recalling, he could do it...although I think two CARTERS look better on a 348/409...and they'd fit without adapters!) Maybe it was Trans-Dapt or Mr Gasket that sold the adapters? Anyone know...or have a couple?
I think SAMIYAM showed me soem WEIRD **** like that one time in HIS GARAGE,, But then AGAIN sam HAS the COOLEST **** in his GARAGE,,,, It's like he DOESN't EVEN care it's there...... he had some weird CARB and INTAKE stuff for the NEWER carbs,,,,, I need to get that ***** to sell me some 97's,,, Maybe I was seeing things
I remember seeing some Offy offsets, they offset it like 4" tho. I belive they were for a dual quad to make it into a crossram lookin intake, they were pretty damn cool looking. -Jesse
They are made by Offenhauser, lets you run duel Holleys without the float bowls hitting. I dont have my Offy catalog handy or I would look up the part # for you.
