While not much happened on the bellytank this week The Finkosel was another story. We started assembling all the components for a trial fit. Here's a picture of the gearing and electrical slip rings inside the center of the machine There was no one here that could make the large gear, so I had to get it cut in Portland OR. Its about 4 feet across, and the teeth are cut on the inner surface. We made patterns for the smaller gears and had them cast in Spokane, WA. Everthing went together well. Here's a few pics of Brother Rat Fink and Surfink We took a video of the thing in motion, but damned if I know how to download and post it! There's still a lot of work that needs to be completed, but this is crazy fun. For you newbies, Here's a link to this never ending project. http://www.finkosel.homestead.com/files/index.htm
Been following the progress on the Finkosel for several years now. What a sense of accomplishment you have to feel to actually see it nearing completion. An amazing and ambitious undertaking. The results are just fantastic. Kudos all around! GV

Okay..the coffee and hydro has kicked in....here's what I see for the final presentation.... A traveling carnival, circa 1963......Carnies that look like Newt ,Fuller, the "Watson" chick....the Barker looks like YOU-KNOW-WHO, with his FTW tattoo showing prominently..... Kids giving up rap music and following the outfit town to town, plastering telephone poles with Newt's artwork on advance posters......Can you hear it? "Step right up,ya little Finkers.....I'll punch ya for a quarter......Sand all the plaster ya want, one dollah!" Well.....something like that......
