Well, the weather was perfect and as always they had a bunch of WWII stuff flying. It was a great time! Ill try and load some youtube videos tonight too of the take off's and some cool ones of the planes Taxi'ing.
more... the business end of the flying fortress. this guy was a ball turret gunner on a B-17! the had 4 B-25's flying this year!
Thanks for those! I was going to go but some family stuff came up. Have to wait until next year, again. Kurt O.
How cool, even an Aussy built Winjeel! Didnt know one those things would find a home in the states! http://www.warbirdalley.com/winjeel.htm
Had to work on Saturday, and no money on Sunday. Sucks. That Stuart tank is a buddy of mine, he sells cars at a VW dealership. Has a bitchin radial engine out back.
I would have killed to be there, almost. But When I get there for the LARS in a few weeks, the Planes of Fame (and hopefully some resto shops) is definitely on the agenda.
Thanks, those are cool pictures. I can't imagine what it would be like to fly in a B-17 during the war, those guys had giant brass balls. B-17s were giant lumbering behemoths, and P-51s only had so much range on their gas tanks for holding off those Me-109s!
here's a couple videos I took.. What a sound! i forgot how to enable the video though.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hSHIOqx8c4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUORSulHVDA
Great pics. I would have loved to have seen it. Not that many air shows around my way. Three years ago a B-25 Mitchell flew over our house twice, the first time at about 300 feet and the second time much lower and dipping his wings. I love those old warbirds.
im sorry i thought this was a hot rod website . i must have logged onto the history channels website by mistake. my bad.
I was there on sunday and that B-17 in the pics had a big gash in the wing apparently they hit a bird on saturday. (Still had feathers in the wing) Great show overall!
i was there on sunday and it was sweet did you see the polished p51 that was flying around that thing was sweet looking
