this car was in the shoebox link..Who's car? What's the story on it? [image].jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/image_uploads/237424-hoodlum3%5B1%5D.jpg[/image]
lookin' at the pic again i see a date in the corner of '99... ritchie only finished his car a year or so ago... my bad. nic
that was the car called Blackjack on the CKdeluxe readers rides site and i remember seeing it for sale on Ebay last year, not sure who owns it now.
That car is cursed. A guy here traded his ROADSTER for it, and brought the car back to NOR-CAL,, it fell off a scissor lift and crushed a LOCAL GUY who had just started a HOT ROD shop.... It was sold later on ebay,,,.. KEEPING IT would HAVE been BAD VOODOO Too BAD, the KID who it killed, had a new family, and was just trying to make a LIVING... SAFETY played a ROLE in his DEATH.. It hurt alot of US, and BROUGHT some of us closer together... I had a KID here, and I sent him to get a Job where the accident happened,,,, stay ALERT
its one of those things that STRUCK so many PEOPLE, in DIFFERENT ways that we usually never talk about it, Just figured it was ironic that the car came up again.. IT REMINDS me that I abuse and take for granted my life,, everytime I fuck off.... moral of the story is LIFE is PRECIOUS, GERM
is that real? Or is germ pulling my leg cause I asked for the "story" on thaT car? If it's true, that really sucks. To my eye it looks like it started out as a coupe, no? Anybody wanna guess on how much it was chopped?
Yeah its fucking true, I dont PLAY games about DEATH, and it bothered alot of people ../.. The shop GUY was in a RUSH to pick up his KIDS, he ignored GENERAL safety GUIDELINES....... enough said, germ
man... how shitty a few weeks a go a local guy was working under his car with out jack stands...jack failed and his last words to his kids were " try and get help"!!!!! he sufficated about thirty seconds later... The cost of safty??? you ask me, I say priceless! sorry to hear that germ
That is the worst thing I have heard in a long time. I would be fucked up for life if I ever saw anything like that happen to anyone. Fucking sad man. Paul
I had this KID hanging AROUND he was a NEPHEW to one of MY BEST friends,, I was trying to DIRECT his LIFE, as a DO what I say from my experiences, not DO what I do,, Meaning "I'M already a FUCK up".. don't be like me, don't make me your FUCKING hero,,,,, It's a GIMMICK that will make your LIFE shitty, no matter how cool you think it is,,,,,, one of those kinda things,,,,, I didn't have MUCH work for him, he was learning and I was WORKING a REAL day JOB,,,, SO 'BINGO",,,, He went to work for this guy,,,,,, And would check in with me to tell me how it's going,,,,,, the story ended at that shop when the guy DIED,,,,, It ruined alot of US.... and It ruined the GUY who OWNED the CAR,,, it's a HARD thing to deal with ,,, I don't even LIKE the GUY who HAD the CAR,,,,, But I feel for him having to live through this SHIT,, It sucked and It will continue to SUCK,,, I come from a TOWN with NO REAL HOT ROD shops,,, Just alot of TALKERS who HAVE no money to PLAY, but think they KNOW everything,,, This guy who owned this shop was way different,, He didn't know MUCH,, But he HAD PASSION and he HAD HEART,, and he had a GOOD HAND..... The KID doesn't talk about it very much,,, we have all moved forward,,, I have LOST alot more in my LIFE then THIS, so know how to deal with it,,, these KIDS DIDN't THIS was there first LOSS,,,,, germ
BigDog928 That is one bad ass ride, got some plans for yours? I just draged home a 49 coupe and I plan on giving it the treatment!!! Wish me luck. Sandman Barons So.Texas
after 15yrs im still learning how to deal with my loss's... dealing with it daily, i remember it with vivid detail. i wonder how i would have turned out if it never happened.. the kid wayfarer is helping is intense.. i was left to my own devices. its tough, its very real, and never goes away. ok... i had a little moment... cool car, ya

I had a KID here, and I sent him to get a Job where the accident happened,,,, stay ALERT The car now lives in Temecula, Ca, where I am from but it was originally built in Costa Mesa, CA. The car is owned by a younger kid and his dad, and I have talked to them at cruise nights in town. I do not want to call anyone a liar, but they have never mentioned anything about the car killing someone. It was originally a coupe short roof, and it has been chopped 6.5 front and about 8-9 in back, and I am almost positive that whoever ahopped it split the roof down the center. I built my 50 tudor long roof, and chopped mine 6.5 front and 9 rear, and my b pillars lay in more when looking down the side of the car, and the ones on this car don't, which leads me to believe that they split the roof. I will post more info as I get it. I had the kid's phone #, but lost it.. Kool kid. [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah MOST of the TIME when a CAR kills someone, that isn't PUT in the AUCTION TITLE in EBAY...... DUMBASS,,, so call me a LIAR,,, I'm sure that NOBODY is GOING around BRAGGING about it,,, I was RELAYING a STORY, and thats the CAR,, in the PICTURE there is a ROADSTER in the BACK,, thats the CAR that WAS TRADED.......... DEAL WITH IT HOW you WANT to,, WE ARE
the story is 100 percent true. and thats no bullshit. i knew the guy who was killed personally, and my girlfriend grew up with a guy who worked with him for a long time. he was really bummed. everybody loses. sad thing.
honestly, I actually heard the story and didnt make the connection untill just now. It sounded way too familiar. No one lies about this kind of shit. That is a sad story. I wouldnt touch that thing with a ten foot pole. That story takes the fun right out of why we do this.
I know the previous O.C. owner... He indeed traded it for the roadster, which I would have never done... Last october we spotted the shoebox on Ebay with some ugly side skirts and red wheels...
