After the insitance of my buddies, I'm posting some pictures of the Jalopy Showdown, including coverage of the debut of our newest roadster, Jer's (Me-Oh's) roadster finished the morning of the show... But first I would like to thanks Larry and gang for putting on such an amazing show that does so much for the participant as well as for the host of the event, the motorsports museum... The best thing about this even,IMHO, is that during the day there is always something in motion, and you get to hear the cars on display RUN as the travel around the historic track, whether they ride high and clean, or ride low and dirty, what a show for everyone! I think the day was best summed up by Roger, a Flyer, as we were egging him on before his virgin trip in his new roadster "sideways?!? I don't think I've been sideways in 40 years!" haha... Ok, so on with the pictures, we set up our rides just before the third turn in the infield.. a good place to be.. jer's #207 leads off the pack of 4 Flyers roadsters... Sadly, my stock "heavy" chevy didn't make the cut for the infield so she had to peak through the fence in turn #1, sitting next to a port-o-john claimed for Clark's Stinky A** (at least that's what the sign said) three cars in line for the track time... zach seen in #44 Still in line.. long line more to come
# 207, #44c and #203.. lined up just like on the salt flats, only on PA gr***... The rear of Jer's car, finished less than 15 hours prior.. displaying the plaque proudly Roger (203) Jer (207) and Zach (44) talking over track strategy ready to go, JEr first, these three laps will have been the farthest he's driven the car at this point!
Now time for action... Jer leaning into a turn! Zach ready to go through Jer's dust cloud... Zach, running the 44 hard Another angle of the "wild *** ride"
Now it's Roger's turn... he may be 74 but he drives like he's 17.. and his wife has no complaints... when asked if she trusted her husband to pilot her around the track she said in a no-nonsense tone "Why not?" After the run... all lined up and cooling down.. a extra special day for the Flyers... made possible by Larry, his gang, and the Latimore Valley fair Grounds! I think I'm gonna have to get a ride for next year! haha
Andy!.....great pics! ....and it was so good to meet you, too......now I know all of the Flyers! Start building that roadster for next year, Andy!! Brucie

I don't see anything in that picture that could make you think it wasn't taken in the early 50's. A cl***ic shot for sure. Frank
haha heidi was running to the souvineer stand with zach's money so that zach could continue talking with the guys... and then she stayed by the roadsters most of the day.. what a gal!
haha funny andy....I was definately around doing all the dirty work and yes spending zachs money. I had to run out to the truck several times too so I missed alot but I do what he needed. I saw you walking around but didn't get to say hi...sorry! Next time I'll be sure to gtg with you and get to meet her.
