Early He****s and probably even todays service cars, are structured with wood rather than steel. I've seen a chopped late 40s Cadillac he**** at a NSRA Nationals in the 70s, maybe Oklahoma City??
I was rollin through the "mexican ****" post, and say that he**** and thought...how cool would that look. As they say, everything has been done...I would like to see some though
i 've seen years ago some heavily chopped 60/70's he****s in finland,it was a psycobilly gang....at list 3/4 chopped he****s... sorry,did'nt took any pix then.... impressively cool stuff....next summer will spend some time in scandinavia and tale all pix of the cars around...hope can met again those guys.... check it out my : "mexican junk " thread here on HAMB to see some cool he****s too....sled
That Barris one I think looks like ****. The top is angled but the side windows are straight with little angled fillers above them. I know that the side gl*** probably couldn't be cut, but maybe enlarge and angle the door frame or something.
yeah it does...however they use it for tours of dead hollywood stars places...saw it on tv,gotta be true..right
Why chop it? The roof on a he**** is what makes it look cool. Well, that and the fact that it use to carry dead people.
There is a dark pruple blown cadillac that looks like they chopped the front. Looks too cool. Sorry no pix.
That's the Barris he****... Ugly...like a '67-'68 Caddy. Would have probably looked pretty wicked chopped if it were just black with no blower with normal hubcaps/whitewalls. But to each their own, right?
We just got done chopping a 55 ford panel truck....the he**** would be about the same I suppose. If it is wood inside,just cut it out and replace everything with steel.
Had this he**** a few years back. It's been to Paso. Never had the guts to chop it though. Had I know Brewsir back then, things might be different. Brew . . . Than panel looks awesome. Craig
I remember seeing the Barris He**** on TV... a 60s model caddy hears with a good 4 to 6 inch chop on baggs and white walls might be pretty breath taking....course it could be a huge waste of time and effort...hmmm
Actually,it's not cool...Wood carved panel he****s like that are a no-no for chops..That's the only thing that makes those worth a ****..Some 50's he****s and definately 60's he****s look good chopped,but if you do it right
Interesting timing. My wife shot these pics for me at the boys track meet last week. It had a student parking p*** in the window. INSANE!!!!!
Not to fond of it...The chop looks good on that Lesalle,but all the red accent..Satin Black with chrome accents would have sufficed..A little too OCC for me...
Looks like it might belong to Paul Jr. from OCC, he does a lot of that spider-web **** on his custom bikes......
Some of the spider web stuff is okay,like the fender skirts and the headlight covers and the hood ornament...But the red is what makes it look wrong..
Now that's more like it...now just **** can the ****gin-van sidepipes and the unfortunate hole in the hood...maybe some supremes. Thanks for posting the picture... BRT

I'm pride myself of my he**** knowledge..I'm trading mine to a buddy for his Coupe DeVille on the understanding that he doesn't butcher the rollers and bed..
Hey, If you're thinkin' of choppin a he****/ambulance built in the 50s, 60s or 70s, take a good look at the windshield........ The windshields used on most Cadillac and some other GM marques was unique to the he****/ambulance/limo ch***is. This windshield was much taller in these professional ch***is, big buck to replace, and worth a preminum to proffessional car i.e. he****/ambulance restoration guys. A sedan/saloon windshield may fit your chop, and would be much cheaper to cut down, purchase. S****ey Devils C.C.
