I know the cruise is usually from about 7ish until 9, but I've also been reading that the A&W is no more, so where's everyone going to be hanging out with their rides?....Moose Lodge?....Bowling Alley?....Where's everyone gonna be hanging out?
I've been wondering the same...but why would anyone hang at the Moose lodge or The Bowling alley on friday night? They are both past the end point of the Cruise.
I agree that the bowl and the Moose Lodge wouldn't work for the cruise night. Here an idea and maybe it should come from the organizers of the event. Find a side street, say mid cruise, that runs east and west and block it off for participant cars or participant legal cars to park and come and go back into the cruise. There really isn't anything like it and there is a need. Only draw back might be when the show is over all cars have to vacate. But it could work. Hon it's your move!
Why? The cruise isn't an all-nighter, plus gauging on how many people are taking "non-registered" cars, it's to their benefit that both locations mentioned are "not" within the cruise's boundaries, don't you think?
The Inn wouldn't allow it, but the street space between the Library and the park would be another good and even more logical place.
I relize it takes manpower, permits ect but if they could open the park on friday nite would be killer, the bands are there, plenty of resturants & still in the cruise area
I've never been, so this might be a dumb question.. the cruise ends at 9..so do they expect everyone to pack it up for the night, or can we hang out later? It would be nice to know where to go before we HAVE to leave.. I dont have a room, so I kinda only have a parking lot to go to...and I dont really want to go to sleep at 9, even after driving for 9 hours.. OK, EDIT:: I found this schedule, it gives an idea how the day/ night goes down each day. http://www.westcoastcruise.com/schedule.htm
Another idea... A few doors north of the movie theater on Pine St. on the other side of the park from Spring (parallel to Spring) street is the Crooked Kilt (Irish Pub & Grill). They have food, booze, and it's basically on the park but not directly on Spring. They have a big back area for bands and if there's one that's willing to play they might bump the DJ that's scheduled that night (any takers?). The only drawback might be from too many people lingering after the cruise since it's right on the park. We could pretty much just hog up the whole strip of Pine St. on the park. Shane
From 7:00 to 9:00 only event entered cars can cruise. The cruise ends at 9:00 but people keep cruising. It's no longer the official cruise, so all the local teenagers with there Camero's, Mini pickups, Scions, Rice rockets, and burn out mobiles, all flood the street. Kind of loses it for the rest of us. However, Tons of **** is going on until all hours. You should have no problem finding a place to hang. Craig
This has been the question for a while now. Me and some club members are getting their early in the morning to find a good open spot for plenty of parking, so if you see the GOONZ please pull in and have some beers. We defenetly wont be going home early so bring your party hats. Shane (stump jumper) I know where your talking about so if that turns out to be a good spot will see you there. Mike GOONZ c.c. Bowling alley seems like the most logical place. (1) it's open (2) it has a large parking lot (3) serves alcohol (4) doesn't anybody bowl? That's were I'll be... who's with me?
The Moose lodge has some rockabilly bands from LA playing Friday night. I also heard that Diablo Dimes might be playing the Bowling alley Saturday night.
That's why I mentioned the Moose Lodge....Last year they had food/booze/bands, and it all started promptly after the cruise ended...I hadn't heard anything about them doing it again for this year....
