    I know this topic comes up just about every summer, but I thought I'd bring it up for new guys and to refresh memories.

    We're driving from Chicago to the Cinematic, then to Western Maryland where we're getting hitched, then driving back. Elizabeth is driving a '51 Chevy with a '60 235, '54 3-speed trans, and '54 torque tube rear end (should be fun in the mountains!). I'll be in my 350-powered '59 Chevy.

    My car made it to Texas and back last year and i think all the bugs are out, but what do we need to do NOW to start getting Elizabeth's car ready... other than drive it as much as possible?

    What should we carry with us?
    * spare water pump
    * spare fuel pump
    * spare points/rotor/condensor
    * spare tire
    * fluids (oil, water, antifreeze, gas)
    * tool kit
    * AAA card and cell phone

    what else?

    I have driven all over the USA and whatever I took in spare parts is exactly what I didn't need. Now I take a small tool set, credit card, cell phone and car ***le in case I want to trade it off.
