Hopkin's is where I bought my '52 Kaiser a**** other things. I aways looked at Hopkin's as a car guys Disneyland. I'll be in Idaho next month so I'll for sure stop by there. Thanks for the heads up.
There was a '38 or '39 Chevy or GMC COE sitting there a year ago. He said it was sold and I couldn't buy it. Now I wonder if its still there...
my first car was in 1957. the first car I bought from Lester Hopkins in 1976, I still have it. I could probably still get the 50 bucks I paid for it. that place was always good for a fair deal. I smoked the generator in my 48 Chrysler once p***ing thru, I had to rob generator parts off three cars to make one work. Lester let me sleep in the Ba*****t. then took me to breakfast at the golf course. one of my all time favorite places. I alway referred to it as Disneyland also. it's small world isn't it!
sounds like a real bummer! let us all bow our heads in a moment of silence. brings tears to my eyes. someone close by snap some pic's of the dude for history's sake!
I went there one time with my brother in law and Tony and was just amazed at what they have there. It would be well worth the trip for some thing special. Butch bought that Kaiser there and later drove it to California with the flat six it was born with. Rags
I stopped by yesterday and there is still some cars from 150-250/ea. Lots of activity out there, and many have already been saved from the crusher. If you live in the area, go take a look and bring a trailer.
