I finally got my 1950 Dodge Coronet running and drove it for the first time around the block yesterday. It has a 1966 Plymouth 273 V8. Sounds pretty healthy being a stock two barrel with only a new cam. Here's a couple videos. I havn't got any of it driving down the road yet, but hope to later today. You can check out my whole build at http://shadowmtkustomz.blogspot.com
Right on! I've got a 52 pontiac straight eight that last moved under its own power about 3 years ago... Had a friend in high school that had a 273 in a poverty hubcap and shitty tires and it embarrased my sbf cougar every time.
fuck, get the brakes working and drag the fucker down the street! hehe i know you got today and tomorrow off=) if you need me to explain how to rebuild wheel cylinders/master ill be more then happy to help. brake lines are easy too.(you buy them to size)
actually, the brakes work great. i rebuilt those when i first bought the car. the only thing holding me back from taking it on any long trips is the open exhaust and not being registered yet. i just got back from a couple trips around the block but my dad only managed to get a quick little clip. must have forgot to press the button. haha... the cam is from summit. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=SUM%2DK6900&autoview=sku Scrapes the driveway. (Three inch blocks and stock 1966 Valiant 13" wheels. Will be replaced with 15x8's soon.)
yah, it went in totally easy. check out http://shadowmtkustomz.blogspot.com to see all of the build pics. there are a bunch of pics showing the clearences and how it all fit. i didn't really have to cut anything at all. it's almost as if it was made for it at the factory.
some updated pics. i put the stock air cleaner back on. i think it looks a lot better. Again, check out http://shadowmtkustomz.blogspot.com if you have a '49 to '52 mopar and were wondering if you can fit a V8. You can, and I have the pics to show how it can be done. Keep it MOPAR.
