I am looking for info and pics of 59 pontiacs. I need specs and info on engines, trans, etc...good and bad about them. I also want info on Air ride for it. It is coils on all four corners so I am sure it wont be too tough.. I do want it to lay frame though..Mostly I need ideas. I just picked up a 1959 Catalina 2 door and am going to get going on it...
    Thanks, EVILT... Jason.

I would love to see some similar customs. I generally only build hot rods and have decided I "needed" a long, low custom. EVILT

I'LL TELL YA.... NUTHIN WRONG WITH THAT 389, I HAVE MUCHO MILES OF HARD DRIVIN ON MINE.

LOVE THAT ENGINE, HAVE AN EXTRA GOING IN MY F~350 FLATBED.

AS FOR THE TRANS, IF ITS A GOOD TRANS THEY ARE FINE.

BUT IT IS PROLLY A DUAL COUPLING 4spd AUTO AND THE 3rd 4th GEAR SPRAG IS THE WEAK POINT.

DONT DRIVE IT LIKE A TOP FUEL FUNNY CAR AND IT WILL LAST A LIFE TIME

I have swapped a 1968 rebuilt 400 ci and a Turbo 350 in my '59. The most issues are with the transmissions, which when they leak .....they leak! Rebuilts for the old ****** are hardly available. The new combo only needed the drive shaft shortened and the rear ****** mount relocated with an adapter plate. The airbag system is easy to install into the suspension and a front disk brake conversion is also available. The distrubutor can be changed out for an HEI from a '76 Pontiac with changing plugs and wires. The carburator can be change to a Q-Jet for better performance if you do not like the stock ABF Carter. I have some info on these cars, if you want email me with your needs.
    Good luck on your project,
    Nick.

    Patch Panels=http://www.blackcar-llc.com/pontiac.htm

I pulled my two door hard top out of a junk yard in the spring of 05. It was put there in 77. It reads 170,000 on the odometer. We cleaned the spark plugs, and put gas it in it. It started right up, idled like a dream and did burn outs.

here are some posts on mine. work has halted until I find a new windshield however.
