First off, when someone offers you a 3'x6' work table made of 1/2 plate steel, just say YES! When I brought this thing home, we loaded it with a forklift and unloaded it with an engine hoist. It took 4 of us using 2 floor jacks to get it into a corner of my garage. I'm not sure what it weighs, but one man can not lift any corner alone. 800 lbs.? Needless to say, when I called my buddies to move it out into the room, none of them returned my calls. I had the floor jacks, but that was still pretty hairy. Now insert 2 800 lb. trailer jacks from Harbor Freight. Under $20 each, I thought 2 would be just the help I needed. Grind off the zinc and weld the legs just above the minimum height so that the wheels are fully retractable. Crank up as high as 10" off the floor to store that air compressor or engine block underneath. Use a floor jack on the other side so that you can still put it against a wall. If you bang your shins on the crank, pop the snap ring off and store the jack out of the way. Need to level that frame table? No sweat! Literally!
That's really cool! I love stuff like that. I find myself in those postions where I am be myself and have to move of lift something at the shop. I sit in my pondering chair for a while and figure out a way to get it done. Nice table too!
