2007 Paso, Me & The Hot Rod. The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

I lost the original motor on my 38 plymouth pickup.On the way to Paso. I only have to go 35 miles from Morro Bay to Paso.It was running better than usual then started over heating then knocking then... Knock, knock, Bam... had to push it into the park on Sat. morning. It's back at the shop now. It will get a 318/727 transplant. EVILT

 

I made it to paso early friday, parked, went to start it up for the cruze and the bendex geer wouldn't engage so some of the guys wighting helped me push start it. got in the cruze and fried my cluch. the pogonater is still in paso. i'm picking it up next weekend. pogo

 

i work in irvine, won't be home until 4:30 and i'm so old school i don't have a cell phone . if you want i can pm you my address and i can leave it out or if your still around after 4:30 you can swing by or i can drop it off at night (after traffic dies down).........it's up to you.

Bigdadddy- I got a pan for you if you need it. Sorry to hear about the troubles, but it's par for the course as they say. I know a good engine rebuilder. he's an old timer in La Mirada...he'll hook you up for about 1K- build you a bad *** motor. Let me know if you need a number.

Do you have an automatic in that car? How far did the guy tow it with the front end in the air?

 

Man, what a drag. I rolled past you about the time it was being loaded. I guess that solves the mystery for me...

 

I've driven tow trucks in the past, and I'd never tow an automatic car like that. My guess is a 4 spd, the guys at Pete johnston are really good and would never hurt a wounded car.

I saw the widening puddle leading up to where you were parked on the side of the road, knew it was bad.

Did you see the 2 little **** head kids up on the hill across from where it died?

These little ****s had paintball guns and were shooting at cars as they went by, I saw a Paso PD car a half a mile up the road and let him know about the gunners in the weeds.

He's the guy that trained me for my cert. in towing .

 

It sounds like you guys both bought the same ****ty oil pans.

Bigdaddy and all the others that blew their oil pan. I think the town sniper was out in full force to discourage all of us from attending the show. The power of the HAMB succeeds again. KNUX!

Boy I thought I was the only one who had trouble, my ****** blew so I towed to a friends house outside of Paso. We tried to fix it but never made it. 10 miles away from my car making it to Paso, guess there is always next year.

 

Man that ****s. I was checking your car out at the hotel. I remember it from the post when you got it running. As soon as I saw that dash I remember it. Good luck getting back on the road.

Got my car back last night or this morning @ 1am!!! going to pick up the motor today and in this weekend

 

So the Ford coughed up a Chevy engine. She apparently didn't like the taste. Put a SBF in her or a Flathead. Good Luck. I know what it's like when the **** hits the fan too
