I'm going to be in Minnesota that weekend, and going to the show. Just curious if it is all high dollar stuff...I'm more into "Rat Rods" (excuse the term). I heard that they get like 10,000 cars there (???). Is it a good time? Anything else going on in the area that weekend? t

It's a great weekend, not to be missed. Cars of all styles, years, dollar figures.

I could have swore it was closer to the 15,000 car mark...either way, there's a lot to choose from there...

I went a couple of years ago, I thought it was a good time. Over 8,000 cars that year. Something for everyone to look at, from high-dollar rides to low-buck rods. Nice setting and good people. Something like 30,000 spectators, and I didn't hear about anyone getting out of line. If you're in town anyone, go. What's not to like about sheer volume of cars? You're bound to find at least a couple that you like.

If I'm driving 750 miles 1 way, it better be a good show!!
Seriously, Ive gone 3 out of the last five years and brought home a car every time. Good time, nice people, all kinds of cars....

  9. It's a very good show for people who like OLD CARS. I italisize this because you will see all kinds and if you can appreciate a nice car ,whether it's exactly what you would build or not, you will have a great time. Lot's of *****in' cars. Good swap meet too.

This pretty much covers it, if you can't find what you like out of over 10,000 vehicles somethings wrong. Hambers meeting on Sat. at 2:00 (mentioned in another thread)

Hey, I hope you can make it to the HAMB meet and greet on Sat. I've only ever seen pictures of that truck. I'd love to see it in person! ( I might even touch it)

Try to go on Friday if you can because it gets so crowded by Saturday with wall to wall cars and people, it's hard to even move, let alone look at cars! If you are going to be in town anyway, dont miss it, especilly the swap meet on Sunday. Don't forget an umbrella because it usually manages to have a hellacious downpour at least once that weekend.

  14. This is correct - just remember you will not see it all.:D

Last year was our first year there and it was unbelievable. We are going back this year and it will pretty much be a every year thing from this point forward.

Awesome show, this will be my 5th year. Took the F-1 last year, just sold it, so I will be in my buddy's Es***. Anybody remember the Multi-colored 48 F-1 with "Ladies ride free" on the doors?? ha ha. Wouldn't believe all the "ladies" we gave rides to inside (and out) of the fairgrounds.

and YES - that show is amazing - it allows cars UP to '64 - so NO Mustangs - that would be 64 and 1/2!

Yep, it's on University Ave, just west of Snelling Ave. (the fairgrounds are on Snelling Ave. and University is about a mile south of the fairgrounds)...just in case anyone from out of town wants to check on Porky's and doesn't know where it is...otherwise there's always the North St. Paul hang-out Friday nights, can't help you guys with directions there...

I hope everyone had a great time. I was raised near the fairgrounds in MN and have only missed a couple years scince I was born. My grandfather and father used to take me. This year was the first year my dad and I had a car in the show. What fun to drive in with everyone.

They broke a record again this year, over 11,500. Was a great time, and no rain at the fair grounds!!

I drove up from Kansas City in my 49 Chevy pickup and had a great time. Hadn't been in about 15 years. Too many cars to see them all and a great variety. I liked it better than Goodguys or NSRA events.
