This is a falcon project that I got from Breeder about 3 months ago. It came with a rebuilt 302, C4 tranny with shift kit, and stall. Will change to a 4 speed later down the road. So anyways, Kropduster and I got it in his garage and tearing it apart found that the floor boards were gone. We connected the frame with some 2X2 box tube, and constructed a 12 point cage inside making it super rigid, so the car won't twist in half. We installed a Maverick rear-end and new leaf springs in the rear. In the front is a 50's Chevy straight axle with Model A leaf springs. Also adding disk brakes. The car won't be completed for the Revival, but will be there for all to see. Not a good explanation to the build, but Kropduster is posting some pics.

even tho i prefer a chevy most of the time i will admit that i have always wanted one of these early falcons in a 2 door wagon or a 2 door sedan

while we're on the subject, what about shocks? i'm not too worried about the front, i figure we'll just get some that fit the axle and fab some brackets off of the subframe...but on the rear, the stock upper mount would be at a pretty severe angle if we tried to use it because of the "lift". we can fab up some new mounts( we'll have to on the axle end as the mavericks were on the spring pad), but i thought some of you falcon guys might have a better way of goin about it....

    many thanks-

i forgot a pic of the cage... go easy on us this was the first one either of us had ever done. that and using a borrowed bottlejack and die pipe bender, i think it came out ok. since theres vurtually no floor it was pretty easy to get a good shot:rolleyes:

I love the pic next to the parts hauler. It just gives me a chuckle when i see an old granny car setting higher than an ol' hay hauler.

BTW the roll cage looks fine in the pics.

My dad had a 1960 Ranchero that I wanted to do the same thing to. My day dream had a 427 high riser and a 4 speed. Have fun!

Looking Good . I got started on my`60 Falcon this weekend . I decided to build a whole new front frame . The unibody has been cut on alittle too much. I`m using a 351C with Hilborns and adoug Nash 5 speed in mine. Keep up the good work. Gasserman

Falcons make great Gassers. I remember several straight-axled ones running around the neighborhood when I was growing up.
