Nine guys have asked for pics of car trying to sell. All nine have stated after time spent sending them."oh nice car but not in the market right now".Go buy ol" School or another rag if you need pics.Leave this place for the serious buyers and sellers PLEASE.
At Least they replied! I did the same thing and never even so much as got a reply. Good luck on your sale.
Part of the stuff you have to do to sell. I'd suggest just posting these pictures on an online album and send them the link. No time involved.
that does **** as a seller... but i've been guilty of it too though, if i'm building a car similar and i need info on tire sizes or something else, I usually act semi interested in purchasing rather than just asking for what I need, seems that especially on ebay, guys (or gals) won't take the time to help out unless they think they might sell the ride. Might be a **** move by me to do that for the guys like you that would probably just give whatever info they could, but it's been my experience that I gotta do it if I really want to get the info. since i found this site though, i've been able to find most of what i needed just by searching the forums a bit... good luck on that sale though!
incidently, i'd trade you my '01 f150 and my '77 cj-7 jeep for that car! the f150 isn't your average daily driver, i'd be HAPPY to send you some pics if you want lol!
It would be a whole lot easier for all if you spent 5 minutes learning how to post pictures in the ad. People shouldn't have to ask you for pics for a 23,000 dollar car. If you want people to buy it you may have to spend a few minutes selling it. Life's rough, huh. Mootz
Well said...how are you gonna know if your interested if you cant see the car. Would you buy one without a picture? Thank about it - new guy!
It really isn't that hard to learn how to post pictures so that all you need to do is post a link when you are selling a car. I've never understood sellers that say, email me for pics. Selling a car (or buying for that matter) can be a pain in the ***, goes with the territory.
All I'm saying is these guys had no intentions of buying. No other questions about the car just pics.I've sold enough cars to know when I'm in the presence of tire kickers. And to reply back and say they were not in the market to buy in the first place .If anyone is that interested including myself in buying a car I would look @ the pic that is included in the ad and start asking questions then hop in my vehicle or on a plane and go see the car. That was all I was trying to say.Thx guys
Its been said many times on here, so why not one more time. Learn to post your pics on the site or post a link to where you have pics at. Its all about how much you want to sell the car. And if you are having heart ache becuase some one says no thanks I dont want to buy your car, then keep your ride and shut up.
plain and simple i am not spending money if i can't see what i am buying so if you want to sell something post pictures and quit *****ing about it.
I don't really need to add anything it will seem, except for one thing. I'm more than happy to resize and post a few (2-3) pics for anyone who can't get them posted. I've asked for pics when I was only semi-interested. You never know. Post a few pics when you advertise it and you don't have to worry about it. Another thing you can do, which is what I did when I sold my car is, type all the info possible and load pics into an email and send it out. Next time all you have to do is forward that email from your sent box. Takes 5 seconds. Most times you have to go through alot of semi-interested people to get to the one who wants to buy. No need complaining about it.
here's another perspective...the buyer's.. you post something for sale, ask for money and then the buyer is supposed to send you money for something not seen? How crazy is that? And, did you think that the guys are just being nice in their response after seeing the pictures? Did you really want to hear, "Wow, that thing isn't worth half what you're asking for it."? I went to look at a OT Chevelle the other day and nicely just said that it had more rust than I wanted to take on with my other projects. I could have said, Are you freaking nuts to ask that much money for rust holding together a couple of pieces of metal with a boat anchor in the engine bay.
"The HAMB is dedicated to spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms..." The cl***ifieds are just a bonus.
Posting an ad online to sell something without pictures is like buying a magazine without opening it to leaf through. You don't really know what's inside. IMO you have no reason to be upset that someone asked for pictures and then said it wasn't what they were looking for. Had you just posted pictures, they would have kept looking and not taken up any of your time. Post the pics and you won't have the problems you are complaining about. To me if you are selling a car and say pics available by request, I ***ume what you are really looking for is more about finding someone to chat with about your car before you sell it than actually selling it. The way I see it is if I want to sell something I want it sold. I don't want to chat about it and entertain a bunch of tire kickers. I post pics and the serious buyers can contact me if they want too. Just my $0.02.
Nine "tirekickers" wanting pictures is that all? I've had to answer dozens of stupid questions on simple stuff I've sold, I consider it the cost of hocking my ****. If you get this bent on nine fellow rodders wanting pics for a +20k car you might consider a consignment lot where someone else will deal with "the tire kickers". Just my opinion, no need to write a letter
Did you think, just maybe, once they saw the car they weren't interrested? You said you've sold a lot of cars, you should be aware that even if they show up to look at it, they aren't going to buy it.
In your second post you said "look at pictures that are included" you did not give us any idea you had posted pictures with your ad. Could have saved a lot of yelling and time!
The more pictures you post on what your item for sale, the less questions you have to deal with when someone is interested in what your selling People love to be informed and if they can actually see it ...even better!
Here's the ad.... Kinda hard to know what exactly your selling with this stellar marketing example. Sorry to be blunt.
