I am looking for some rims for my coupe. I found a good deal on some www's. (they are 14's though) Does anyone know what (if any) cars or trucks ran a cool looking (old school style) steel rim that will work. My bolt pattern is 5 lug on 4.75"

Looking for rims like the ones I have now:

The front and rear rims look different on your ride. I ***ume you're looking to match the fronts...
It seems like you're dealing with a pretty much exclusive to Gm bolt pattern as far as I know. If you weren't too picky you could find ones like the back from a 70s Nova, Camaro, or even Chevelle.
Other than that I don't know...

60's GM intermediates (Chevelle, Tempest, Skylark, Cutl***, etc..) had narrow 14" rims, but they use the snap on hub caps with the bumps on the outside of the center ring.

I would prefer them to match. But, it is a driver rod, done on the cheap. There are other places I'd rather spend money on this thing. (chop top)
Also, summer is here and I want this on the road SOON. I found a new set of Coker Cl***ic www's for $200 so I figure I can't go wrong. (they are like $180 each new)
I am looking for 4 rims now but once I get them on I might decide to go with a larger tire and 15 inch rim in the back. So it would be great if i could go with something that had a matching 15 inch counterpart.
I am not sure what I will end up with, which is why I want to find some cheap steel wheels and run it until i figure out what the final set up will be.

Come on guys... I need some help here. I have been looking everywhere (craigslist, ebay, internet, etc) I can't find any cars that used a 14 x 5 lug on 4.75. (any width) There are plenty of options for 15 inch wheels.
I don't want to buy these tires if I can't use them. I don't want to have to order new steel wheels, that defeats the whole purpose! (cheap) If I am going to spend the cash, I'd rather buy 15" www's and use some of the rims I already have.
Help.... quick! I need to decide if I should p*** on these tires.

I had some from a 53 Chevy that were 14 with 5 on 4.75. I've also got a full set of them from an 80's S10 truck. They are a spoke type but with caps on, who cares.

I've got a set of 15" WWW with no rims...

53-54 Chevy p***enger cars, 55-57 Chevy p***enger cars, 58-64 Chevys full size cars, midsize cars, and maybe even later.
These were actually the most common wheels around in the 50s-60s. 15s didn't become the norm until the mid-late 60s-70s in Chevys.

midsize GMs from the 60s should have them, I have one of those wheels laying in my yard, I gave away a few of them not long ago to a friend to put on his 64 chebbie.

    this is a non-disk brake 14 x 5" wheel with chevy 4.75" bolt pattern.

actually all the Chevies had 15s thru 1956, 57 was the first year for 14" wheels. and the 57-64s had a lot of "dish" to them, compared to other years.

Chevrolet used 15" through 56, 14" 57-66 on full-size cars, and starting in '67, standard size was 14" with 15" required on disc brake cars. Then they went to 15" only on the full size cars, but the 14" continued on Camaros, Chevelles, etc for a number of years, even cars as late as the '84 Monte Carlo came with 14" wheels.

Any salvage yard should have piles of 14" rims with the GM pattern.

OK, so maybe my '53 rims weren't stock but they came off of a 53 and they were 14". Aaron51Chevy has them now!

I know later 50's Olds were 14" as well. I've got a keen set of hubcaps that I bought to put on my car only to realize too late...

Sounds like what I have been finding... although I have not found any sites that say 14's were used. I have disks up front on a stock front end, wonder if that will b e a problem?
When you guys are talking about stock rims, are we talking smoothie type steel wheels or spokes? I am not worried about caps, I will probably just be running beauty rings and nothing else.
These are the style I am looking for... (these are free, but they are ford, 4.5 I think)

here's a short section of the Chevy parts book that covers mid-late 60s car wheels, does not include corvair or corvette.

"Chevy" in there means Chevy II Nova, and P*** means full size car such as belair, impala, caprice

You could have some problems with the earlier 14" wheels hitting the disc brake caliper.

Get rims off something mid 70's or newer to be sure they'll clear the disk brke calipers. Nova, Camaro, Chevelle, etc.. and metric mid-size Malibu, Monte Carlo, Regal, Grand Prix, Lemans, El Camino, etc..1978-1987. Plus 2wd S-10 trucks and Astro vans.

Thanks for the info guys. I was looking for later model rims but they all seem to be slotted, ralley, etc. I have not seen any good "smooth" style ones from the later models. (remember, I am not planning to run caps)
I have found that tri-year chevys run 14x5's with a 4.75 pattern. Those are a little narrow but would work. (if they clear the brakes) The other problem is that they are not cheap. (ebay)

Anyone have a set of 15 inch www radials they want to sell?

    57 chevys had 14s, but 55-56 had 15s. (I have a set)

and they won't clear most disk brakes.

draggin ***- are those 4.75 pattern? Those are exactly what I am looking for! I went to a junk yard today (only one around) and they had no idea what I was looking for. (they can only look up stuff by the year, most of their stuff is newer.)
I'd trade you but I have 14's, not 15's. I got a set of amost new coker cl***ic radials for $200. The trouble is that they are 14 inch. (215 75 14)
I'll be set to cruise the summer if I can find a cheap set of rims!

If you buy early wheels (pre disc barkes) they will not clear your calipers. One of my early S10's had 14" wheels, I cannot confirm that they were original. S10's do have the correct bolt pattern.

S-10, 86 I know have 14's, later years have 15's. I do not know when they changed but old S-10's are everywhere. They have disk also.

How about I just make you some. I'll use an earlier (better looking) center and put them in a new rim so it will clear your discs.
