HAMBERS, this is just a heads up for anybody that might have stayed at the Paso Robles Holiday Inn Express this past weekend. I don't know if this tactic was applied to everbody but in April I recieved a room rate confirmation letter that I had to sign and list my credit card # on in order to insure my room rate was the same as the year prior. I filled out the form and sent it back. Last weekend, upon checking out, the desk clerk asked for my credit card at which time I advised her I had already been charged and she stated it was just part of the check out process. I found this su****ious but went along with the program. Today, Friday, I checked my account and discovered they had charged me again for the room now bringing my total for a 3 night stay to $1253.70.....seems fair, right? I proceed to call down to the hotel to find out the hotel had changed ownership as of yesterday 5/31/07.......convienient. I then called Holiday Inn Corp. Offices who is currently working with me to remedy the situation. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up so you don't also get screwed!!! If you have questions the Corp. # is 1-800-621-0555. Dirty
does your luck just keep getting better and better or what? hit me up when your off work, ill be up. hi har.
you might want to start a discussion with your credit cards fruad team, they can throw a lot of weight around, and depending on the car, may be able to pull money back, or start payment. let us know how it turns out... keith
Don't let the Corporation stretch resolution out past the deadline on your credit card. Process a dispute with the card folks now. Charlie
a simple call to the credit card should take care of that. you are saying they charged you twice correct? I wouldn't even **** around calling the hotel. call your credit card. sounds like an unauthorized charge to me.
No, I'm not a real con artist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!! Whoah Nellie!!-Sololobo
We stay there every year and we did get the request to pay in advance to keep the old rate. The lady at the desk asked for our credit card at check in, she confirmed that we did pay but needed the card for incidentals. Iv'e been waiting to be charged again, but so far it hasn't happened. Did they let you reserve your room for next year? She told me they don't do that anymore and we needed to call in a couple months to try and get a room. Sounds like you had a rough weekend. Your car looked bad *** in the parking lot though. one of my favorites of the trip.
Thanks B+M for the compliment on the coupe, looked a lot better fly'n down the road before it grenaded!!! In regards to next years reservations they told us we would have to call like 10 months before nest years date....but then again who knows what the new owners have in store for us????
Dirty-- Take your taser gun w/ you next year-- You should make those jokers do the "voltage breakdance" if they try to jack you on the room again! jay
I had a similar experience at a Holiday Inn in Muncie IN several years ago. Went to the James Dean run and reserved a suite in advance @ $149.00/night (all that was left). At check in I ask if there were any cancellations as I was by myself and didn't need all that space. They had another double smoking room I could have for $85.00/night. I took the cheaper room. When I checked out they had my rate @ the $149.00 rate and I wouldn't sign the receipt. The clerk changed the invoice to the $85.00 rate, I signed it and left. Next month when I receive my Amex statement it's there @ $149.00 for 3 nights and the next entry was a duplicate entry in effect doubling the wrong room rate and charging for 6 nights. I called the motel and ask for the manager and he informed me that he would have to check the checkout days tape. The tape was stored elseware. He said he would call me back but of course he didn't. This went on for 2 months and I finally called Amex Corporate. They called me the next day and told me I had a credit coming for all the overcharges and the manager of the motel would be calling me the next day. He did but was pissed I that I had called corporate. I politely informed him if he had done his job I wouldn't have had to call corporate and if his help had done their job it prolly would not have happened in the first place. Two days later I got a check from him for all the overcharges but my money was tied up for 2 months prior to that.
Man they're always trying to keep the white man down!!!!!!! Show them whose boss, POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
