This Falcon went from a 13 inch 4 lug tire poverty caps bone stock looking original to a ******** straight axle g***er in only three hard days of work , and best of all its still my daily driver. The cops look at me hard but i havent been pulled over yet and i am running open headers and slicks. Thanks to S****e ,Hardluck and especially his dad for lending his shop and tools and time and a few others that donated a few parts to a cool cause .It runs a roller 302 with a toploader and a 8 inch rear redrilled to chevy pattern with a MAS axle and rebuilt 49 Chevy spindals and brakes on the front. My plans are to hole saw the **** out of everything and gut the rest to get it down to 2000 pounds or less and mount a teardrop thunderbolt scoop on the hood if i dont take it off.I cant wait for the Hamb and nostalgia drags...
Probably about as good as it can for a 2400 pound dumptruck. Its not bad since i got the toe in set right ,but its a little squirlly when you get on it hard in 1st and 2nd if the road isnt smooth.
You guys keep building cool stuff and you will motivate me to do something with the 64 Fairlane 500 at the farm... That is freakin awesome, especially for only 3 days work.. damn!
Very nice... One of your best. Now I need a 61 grill , hood , drivers door, gas tank, etc. for my ranchero...
that ranchero rules!!! i'm partial to them cause well, i own one as a daily driver. but honestly mine is an original v8 car, it has a 302 with a mild cam and an AOD and it chirps the tires EASY. can you even get any traction??? hell who cares the car looks fun!!!
This car had the drivetrain when i got it and the guy i got it from told me it was a factory V/8 car cause it had the emblems on the fender fronts.I told him that dont mean scwat ,anyone with a drill can do that. How can you tell if it was a real V/8 car ?I doubt that it was since it was a 4 lug and it had flimsy looking springs in the front .It was a 3 on the tree from the factory.I still need to flare the rear fender openings that i cut for the tires and i think it would look cool with some long old style homeade ladder bars all the way up to the front of the doors.
Didnt think there were any V/8 Falcons in 61, but the emblems look cool anyway. If anyone asks, its a rare F/X car.So how are you gunna build your Falcon Danny?
Gonna bag it, ac, auto, p/s, pb, radials, wide whites, shave it, flt black with red wheels.. You know my style...
Looks great. Got any construction photos or underhood shots? Did you add frame connectors? New front rails or cleaned up original "boxes"?
Dude that is cool as hell! I have spent over 3 days just getting mice nests out of my project. Stance is perfect, and it looks killer. Take it easy in the corners and keep the front wheels on the ground and you have it made. FUN,FUN, FUN!
I used the stock rails just cleaned them up a bit.The 27 inch springs sat perfect in the stock dogleg in the frame like it was made for it.Frame connectors are coming soon so till then i am kinda gunna cool it with high rpm launches.S****e and i are gunna make some out of sqaure tubing .I am also thinking of replacing the rear gl*** with red plexigl*** with a roll bar running through some holes in it to the rear frame to stiffin it up little, plus it would look cool.
When you said The 3 Day G***er I thought you meant you got some bad burritos... It looks good & I'll hand it to you - you've got bigger stones than I do. I don't know if I'd have the confidence to tear down my daily and alter it that much in three days.
My stones may be a little bigger than average, but the real problem is that i dont have enough sense to know better ,or i just dont give a ****, dont know which...
