Well, my wife and I cruised down to the YorK NSRA today. Got a nice on-street parking spot in the shade right near the entrance. $12 each to get in. NSRA estimated 4200 cars (down) and 195 vendors(up). I thought the car numbers were way down-though I usually go on a Saturday, and the vendors were about the same or a bit less and only about half the usual number in the "women's hall". Still, it was a great day. The vendors who were there had good stuff and I could pick up my ordered parts without shipping. The weather was hot, but dry for once and that meant we could look at cars at a leisurely pace. So while there may have been fewer cars, we saw more of them by not dodging raindrops. Most of the pictures I took were close-ups of details I wanted to save, but I'll see if anything might be of interest. Anybody else go?
Me, my dad, and Cuznbrucie went. Nice but hot. I found a few treasures in the swap meet. There were some really cool cars in between the 1-800-rodz cars.
I know. Maybe it's the current state of rods,or maybe it was just NSRA, but there were an awful lot of very nicely done rides that were all cookie cutter stuff. Everything out of the box. Really nice, but no individual touches, just variations on store bought. I'm thinking of painting my car close to it's original dark (Brewster) green and could only find about 6 rods painted anything close. Mauve and teal are not my first color choices and orange seems to be the new black. Still had a good day, though.
I wasn't gonna go but my Daughter really wanted to see the rods. It was hot and humid. A lot of empty spaces at the show. Wasn't much there that got my interest except these....
