Well, not even 48 hours of sleep deprivation and a wreck with a semi could keep us from dragging the tudor down to Billetproof. Yeah I know, it doesn't run yet but at least it was there. We had to park the trailer out in the field and push it into the show. Everybody seemed to like the car and it was pretty cool having people ask me questions about stuff I did. I know this is old hat for 99% of you guys but this is the first time I had a car that I built in a show. Even if it looked pretty rough and didn't move on it's own and we had to go through the h***le of trailering it, I'm glad I had a car there to show for my efforts rather than making excuses why it wasn't there. Thanks to everybody who helped me out, my schedule just doesn't allow a lot of time for car building. Thanks to some of the Nightmares, one of the Poor Boys, Danimal and eveybody else who helped push the heap around. It's going to be driving before it's next show. Oh yeah, and as usual LuckysGal found a deuce she liked
At your service. The boys are still talking about the day of thrash at your place and it was really awesome to have Frank and Fuel Pump and the rest of the gang all stop and say 'Hi' to us spectators. The dazed grin on your face most of the day showed you were either up too late or having a great time! We'll have something there next time! I PROMISE!
You are officially one of the "napping geezers." I think you napped more than Frank and Rich. And of course Luckysgal wants a 32...shes the real hot rodder!! Great to see you, and your tudor...some nice fabrication going on there.
Very Hot Betty, glad you finally got her to a show!! NO, Wait it was the sedan that was a first, sorry the little sweetie thru me off!! Congrats!! it is a special feeling fo sho-Cool Rig Bro.-Sololobo
Scott, You deserved to be there with the hang tough at***ude you had through the tough times. That just makes it more satisfying when your done. You hot rod looked great power parked at the end of "Nightmares row". I just wonder how the pink shirt will look on you as yer cruisin about in that tub BTW the 32 roadster Andria liked is from Saginew. lt's one in Jon Hall's fleet of cars and one of his coolest too. Jon was under our easyup for a while shootin the **** with me while you were layin there asleep Even Frank was awake. Now there's a switch. Frank and I awake and a young guy sleeping.
It was cool that you could at least get it there... it's a pretty cool heap. And, at least for me, that thrill you describe never goes away... I get it every time I take the '55 anywhere. You have until June 22 to get it driving... that's the Sloan show in Flint (it goes Fri, Sat, Sun).
I didn't exactly make the grand entrance that I had hoped to make either!! When we got there I wasn't even gonna unload it. But with a small bit of coaxin' and some pushin' help from danimal and the boys I figured why not. It did run, at least in short bits, and I had fun talkin' to anybody that would listen. They did manage to park me in the exact perfect place.... right in front of a handicap sign!!!! You just need to make that one adjustment to your trailer,,, if you ever need it again!!
What a great show ! This was our second year with our car and our fourth year at the show (havent missed one). If you look in the pic of luckygal our car was directly behind the red coupe. Our blue 64 chevy wagon was parked with the screamin demons from Toledo. Never met the guys before but really enjoyed BSing with them. Scott former lurker
Yeah, usually when I'm laying facedown in the gr*** there was a LOT of Guinness involved. I guess if you're fortunate enough to have a deuce 3 window as the first car you ever drive like she did, you don't have any other choice than to be into hot rods.
Like I already told you on MySpace man... Great friggin ride! It was good to see you had it ready for the show. I'm sorry I never got to meet ya though. Maybe sometime soon.
Hey, when I made it home I only took a 6 hour nap. Then I got up for a while, unloaded the car and got another brief 7 hours of shut eye. I wonder what the chances are of a guy getting beat up wearing a pink, "I heart Nightmares" shirt?
Congratulations on making the show. You certainly earned the nap, judging by all your posts lately. Now get it drivable, and show us the ear to ear grin that will inspire.
