i will repeat again. IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE HEAT SEEMED PLEATS USE THEM ON ALL OF THE INTERIOR. all panels should match if not it looks bad.

mix n matchon interior looks just as bad as a motor or chasiss in 3 diffrent colors.

Hey Root...the Batfink had seatcovers from JC Whitney and door panels from me by using the yardage stuff also from JCW....they looked good and held up for many years.....and you can get seatcovers for almost any factory seat!

Root, automotiveinteriors.com has pre-sewn covers that are very well made, and offer a larger selection of colors, and patterns, than JC Whitney does. Same factory makes them.
Rodinteriors.com also sells nice presewn covers, but more expensive, and even better selection, including pearl white, and Zodiac, leather, suede, materials, as well as sewn pleats, instead of heat pressed.
I've used all of the above, and have been satisfied.

So are black interiors in a 50's styled custom unacceptable? I keep leaning towards white but my better half is wanting black. The car will be a medium green metallic.

  10. Here's a couple pics of a friends 57 Buick Century - mit built 425 Nailhead - TJ style T&R interior.

He and his brother built the car to be a clone of their high school 57 Buick Century.

They did a heckuva job as you can see.
The white interior with the fire engine red exterior is a nice combo.

White was the most popular color for us west coast guys who could drive to Tijuana in a reasonable amount of time.
    Black was probably second.

Black stays clean longer, but let your T-shirt slip up and then plant your **** on the seat and lean back after it's been in the sun a while.

White cleans up easy enough, probably easier nowadays with the moh bettah cleaning products that are available.

Not to highjack the post, but I was wondering what would be the price differential at an upholstery shop between a T&R seat in something like a 63 Chevy pickup and the same seat done with the same material, but in a flat no T&R style.

My old 63 Chevy pickup had a plain black vinyl upholstered seat and it looked pretty good to me.

Black is probably the best choice for hiding grease, dirt etc. But white keeps talking to me...

    True...so true.

So what about black inserts with white borders? Too many colors?
