Just in case anybody is interested, I just got a $49 flight from Denver to Las Vegas for the SEMA show thru Southwest Airlines. Also, rooms at the Gold Coast were $76 per night. Not a bad deal.
Thats a great deal. I hope they give me that deal out of san antonio texas. I usually pay 300 a ticket to go to sema.
I got in this year through a friend who's worked for a tire company all of his life. I've never been to SEMA before, and I can't wait. Aside from needing a friend to put you on the guest list, The confirmation email I got says I need business identification (taxes, regestration or license) AND personal ID Paystubs from the company, Health ins card, business photo ID. I'm kind of worried about all this identification.. Has anyone gone in the past? Do I need to forge all of this information? How hard do they look at this stuff??
me and my dad thought about going and aperantly they are sticklers about the required do***ents. he checked into it and wasnt going to be no problem for us cuase he owns his own shop but we were running out of time to make plans.
It is getting more and more difficult to qualify for SEMA p***es. A seperate company in Washington DC does the actual checking of info for credentials and they seem to be very picky. I've been involved with SEMA for forty years and had to call in a couple of favors to get my credentials. Now that I have them, it's easy to renew them every year.
I have been going for years now and they always send me an email where I can register online. I think if you go to the SEMA website, you might be able to register. Its only like $15 to get in but there is some required information. I thought all you needed was a business card showing you have an automotive business. They never asked me for taxes or paystubs. When I get to the show, I show my drivers license and a business card and they give me my p***. Check the website first.
I just found out that new members will have to jump thru some hoops to get in. I have been a member for awhile so its fairly easy for me to register. Remember, once you get in, stay a memeber and that way you won't have to fight the battle again. Besides, SEMA is a great organazation and does alot of great things for us car guys!
Kelly and I just got registered for the show tonight. Its our first time and it didnt seem to be too difficult. Of course they are holding our badges at the show and we will have to show credentials to get them. We got a $89 room at the Gold Coast. Cheapest one in town but will probably put anything in Lubbock to shame. Kelly is going to work on tickets tomorrow. Cheapest on Expedia was 310. We will have to have a HAMB meeting while were all there!
