** '53 Vs '55 Desoto Grille**

Got a '53 oldsmobile and I'm looking for a desoto grille. 53 is my favorite but many out there tell me a 55 will look better, what do you think?? Pics might help.

 

personally, i like 54's best...similar styling to the 55 with much nicer parking lights and larger teeth to better fill the grille cavity...only drawback to 54's are chromed pot metal ends, which are usually found pitted up pretty badly, where-as 55's have the entire bar done in stainless..here's the 54 in my car, shortened to 5 teeth......just my 2 cents

I happen to like the one in my 1956 Australian built UTE but it is an export only beast so you will not be able to find one easy

 

I like the 54 grille the best, too. But then, I owned a 54 DeSoto for a few years.
