I've got a NAPA 1775 filter running on my Ford tractor(yeah I know it's O/T but I've got hay down). Anyone know of exchange numbers for this filter-Fram,etc? I can get another one from NAPA but it's pretty pricey.Thanks.

  3. Before anyone else says it "Don't put a Fram on it". Just do a search on Fram Bad. I would think that on a tractor you would want something that would stand up to a tough environment. You get what you pay for. Just my $.02.

  4. Is it a spin-on?

If so, take a look at the thread size.
3/4-16 seems to be very common.

You'll need to match the gasket size as well, but many of them are the same size as the good ol' Fram PH8a.
The PH8a - number used as a reference, I like Wix - fits most Ford cars and trucks from a few years back to quite a way back.
Also fit's the 455 Buicks and I'm guessing the 350 Buicks too.

There are shorter - and probably longer - cannisters than the PH8a length.
I've picked up a couple of different ones to see if I could fit one in my 32 and 31 on 32 rails cars with 455 Buick.
No go, but one came close.
Another remote filter setup this time too....

If ya go to AutoZone or any other auto store they should be able to cross reference the numbers to any of the other filters. They have done it for me a couple of times.

Every auto parts store has a conversion book for other brand part numbers. There is nothing easier than getting an oil filter.

  7. fram part number is PH7

1775 is about $7 at napa

Thanks guys. I guess, all things considered,I'll just stick with the NAPA Gold filter. It is a heavy stress situation and the engine's 45 years old or so. I appreciate the help.
