I've got a chance to change out a 318 poly in a 64 Polara(sweet ride). I've found a 413 but I'm not sure if the bellhousing on the trans will work. The 413 has a 727 with it but it's not for the push ****on shift and that has got to stay. Can the parts for the shift be transfered to the newer style 727 if the bellhousings are different?

318 Poly is an A block - different bellhousing pattern than a B or RB like your 413 has. Also the trans case for the push****on shifter is different than the linkage style Torqueflite. You need a '64 or earlier aluminum Torqueflite for a B or RB - 361, 383, 413, 426.

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for. I was afraid that was the case but wanted to be sure. Now if I can find a trans I'll be good to go.
