While putting away parts up into a loft above my shop, I had the ladder slide across the floor, and down I went. Spent the weekend taking Percosets, looking through old photo albums, and posting some pics on the HAMB!

Took my coupe out to a cruise night for the first time since December. Different head lights, radiator repaired and moved back two inches, new support rods, Lakes headers with motorcycle baffles inside ( Way too loud!). Everything works great and the car looks much better.

Good news, it was spotless inside.
Bad new, I took it in & out for nuttin!
Now what to do with it?
Sell it?
Build it?
Daily driver as is?
BTW, does anyone know what year Ford fruit jar master cyl with a port for the brake light switch would be?

Went to the Viva carshow on Saturday.

Sunday we had 15 folks over for Easter dinner; my wife and 2 boys, my Mom(87), my wife's Mom(76) and Dad(76), my brother and his wife, my brother's wife's parents( 86 and 85) and a few others.

Prolly the last time we get the Granparents together in once place. Was nice.

Finished up swapping a stock 350 into my ElCamino and thought I'd try an old quadrajet I've had for a while - Thing started right up but had a terrible vacuum leak so I rebuilt the carb and still had a leak - seems these old quads were porous! Rebuilt a different one and it's running smooth and quite - gonna be a lot nicer to drive every day than with the 355 and I can stop buying Hi Test!

Friday night - spent time with wifey

Saturday - packed up some Skylark bumpers going to Indiana I sold off ebay - a mile of bubble wrap and duct tape

Moved the plug wires over one on the cap in the 61, cranked it and tried to break in the cam but couldnt run it more than 5 mins because the rear freeze plug is leaking like a ***** [IMG] but did it sound great!!!!

Got the those DraglinkCC via GearsNGrease Wide Whites to seat on the rims [IMG] with my buddies help using the knee and elbow in the tread technique - sorry Mike they are definitely staying in DOGGville now! Damn they look good on those chrome steelies.

Did some more mock ups of the DOGG Bucket - need to find a Jeep or Scout rear axle to follow the 5 x5.5 theme to match the 46 front drum set up.

Discussed keeping the 406 in the 61 Truck or finding a 350/305 to run in it and use the 406 in some future g***er Henry J project.

Sunday - hung some curtains and blinds - slept - took the wife out to eat. Read Decembers R&C and Ryans write up in it. Hell I thought he was older than 28.

11. Per Tinbender's (and other's) advice, cut out the floor of the '38...scary. Looks good, although I noticed the gap at the bottom of the driver's doors seems about 1/8~1/4" greater than the top...it apparently flexed a little (c'est la vie!). I'll align everything back up (better living through hydraulics) before putting the new floor in.

Took a practice test for the GRE. I've decided to go back to school for a Master's in Computer Science...if you don't stay ahead, you fall behind.

Went to church, hid a few dozen eggs for the girls, then ate way too much food.

Good weekend, to be sure.

I finished getting the heads back on Friday night. Had a garage sale on Saturday and talk with about a hundred guys about the 'No Bux Special'. Met a lot of nice people in the area who are into traditional hot rods, really cool. I also had one guy insist that this was a kit car, now I think I understand the insult that this suggestion carries. I looked at him like he was crazy; yeah you know, this is the kit that comes with all kinds of custom welding on the frame and giant rust hole in the body. Oh well, can't expect everybody to know or understand. I politely told him nope, this all Amercian Metal, all be it from multiple maufactures (Dodge, Ford, and Chevy).

The motor got tuned up on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a couple of HAMB threads. I took my girls for a ride, man did we all enjoy that.

Hope everybodys weekend was as good as mine.
Cheers

pulled the gas tank out of the Dodge to use in the Plymouth but will use it in the Ford instead, put the super tune on the built Chevy in Bro's Jeep and scotchbrighted the moss off the Studebaker, put tabs on 'er and drove 'er around a bit, did some brainstormin' on crane fit and configuration for the shop, it'll be gantry on the side opposite the lift covering an area about 14'x24' and a stationary beam running 30' crosswise between the car spaces and work space, got the tractor back yesterday and will start working the back forty today, rains acommin' got tah git the seed in.

STILL working on my interior, I was getting near completion, but, I had a brainstorm, which led to a change of plans, therefore it may be a few more days. I promise to post pics when I am done. It will definately be different. [IMG] -Joe

Fixed the brake booster on the mustang. I stuck a 80ish mustang booster on the car a while back, and had to drill the holes. Anyhow, the way they landed, they're near the steering column bracket, and it made it hard to get the nuts on the studs tightened flush. So, I was running around with only 2 bolts... the firewall was flexing enough to cause the gas pedal to bind! I got crafty, and used two old 1/2" sockets on the two studs as spacers, and tightened everything down. Big difference! Now all I need are some disk...

I also washed the poor thing, first time since last august...

drank, worked, ate really good thai food and put new front brakes on the ricer-cycle... pair of used rotors that came off of a CBX, familiar with THAT terror? [IMG]

...also hooked a hippy buddy up with some harbor freight wrenches and sockets, the guy had asked how to make his moped faster [IMG], (aha, theres hope!) we greased the front wheel bearings, that did it! Explained about alot of other **** on the thing... he's less automotively illiterate now. Meanwhile planted lots of seeds about getting a "real" motorcycle in his mind... he's the one interested in a sidecar...

Thurs., I finally got to bring my daughter Frankie home from the hospital. She spent 19 days in the NICU and decided that was long enough. So this weekend, I put up with exactly 635 visitors. Oh yeah, the buckets legal to drive also. Gonna break it soon...

Nothing new (sadly to report) on the Merc...lack of ambition right now. Now that the weather here is looking up, I look forward to opening the garage and finishing up the floor pans...

Mom (in Colon Cancer remission) put on a brunch of sorts for her kids (me and my sis), my G/F and our grandma. With eggs, a ham, turkey bacon, hash browns, donuts, the works. Grandma brought some of her Kielbasa. Gorged on the food and stayed for a few hours & then came home and contemplated the fragility of life for a while. Drank myself into a buzz and went to bed.

For those who don't know:

My mom was diagnosed in late November with stage 2 Colon Cancer. My Ma began her radiation/chemo pump therapy on Monday, (after 6 weeks of Chemo alone), she seems in good spirits, but is frustrated with this "VHS tape sized thing on my hip"...a chemo pump that administers chemo continuously into a "port" in her arm. She has to go 5 days a week for a shot of radiation to where the Cancer was. I wish her the best. She is doing fairly well for someone that had no experience with hospitals, doctors, and chemo treatments. The doctors think they "got it all". We'll see.

Ma is only 52.
