well sorta, it was next to the barn. its a 41 stude. it has sbc mounts 55 truck frontend, late model chevy rear end, and its freaking sweet. i'm going to try and get it back on the road by the end of summer, just gotta finish my t first. any info on where to get parts for it would be greatly appreciated.
!!!!!!!!!! HOLY ****ING RAD! i want it, youre lucky. anyone got a sbc for this guy? id have that ****er burnin round the block in a matter of days!
If you're going to put in on the road you won't want to run those tail lights, I'll take them off your hands!
Does it look like it ever raced or is it an unfinished project car? Stude coupes make awesome g***ers.
Awesome. Like cougardan stated about being a g***er. Those cars were big in the lower gas cl***es. G***ermadness has a few photos of them on there. This car must have a race history...did you get any info about it?
leave that diamond plate alone totally 60's accurate as is the rest of the car -it screams G***ER, hell all the hard suff is DONE! I know of a couple laying around PM me and i'll give you a couple numbers. the Headlight trim and tailights are the hardest to get + none around here, great find !
Anyone have a pic of the guy from the Houston area? The blue one from the hamb drags or DOTD? I forget his name right off hand. That guys car is perfect.
There's a before detailing and after shot. Two different years at DOTDrags. Then a couple more for good measure.
Thrasher, where'd you run across that at? Not that I need more projects, I was just wondering if you found that here in town or not. Larry
Nice find. When was diamond plate invented? I thought it didn't come along until at least the seventies.
Cool find : I helped a friend build one in 1959, he was a member of The Sleepers of Abington Pa. 283,chev rear, 4 speed, white paint. I wonder if ?? Goldy
Congrats on hitting a home run, man! That's killer! Some of you know that I'm helping Dr. Lockjaw restore Ernie Nicholsons old "Super Stude" '41 coupe. We're looking for trim pieces for that, too. It's now a roller, with alky injected BBC in place (Ernie ran a blown Hemi in it, but Doc left his blown Hemi in his other pants). Could use any info anyone might have on it! Congrats again on this find! You're a very lucky guy...
i found it in town, it was at a house i had driven by hundreds of times without ever noticing. the guy also has a 50 ford v8 coup, a 51 chevy coup, a 55 ford panel truck, a complete 28 A sedan, a 55 chevy pickup, 2 53 chevy pickups, and a ton of other ****.
it might have been raced, it looks like at one point it was complete and running. the steering and brakes work, the engine mounts are there, and there is a shortened driveline in the trunk. what makes me doubt it had been run is the fact that the rear tires rub the fenderwells, but they might have had different tires on it. also the front rims (not the ones in the picture) are 14 inch with a 6 lug pattern, any idea what the came from?
I think I know the guy you're talking about. Nice score . Comes to find out you were in auto shop cl*** with my son Derek. Small world. Larry
The early Toyota pickups with six lugs use the same bolt pattern as early Chevrolet cars and trucks. That may the source for those wheels.
