I was there had a good time. Every one started to cut out early that sucked. Plus how it was priced to get in wasnt the best. I just felt that $20 too bring your car in was kinda high for a first year car show! The swap space was $10 afew guys just put there car in the swap spaces.

Hey AA/Fuel..., thanks for the comment. Probably got some more bugs to work out among other things before next year. I found another problem too. They are looking at the same date as Rust Revival  I think.

Glad I got to meet up with ya. Sorry you did not know about the beer sooner.

Stick Shift it was nice too meet you too! The only thing is a swap space and a parking space should be the same price next year $15. Then you wont have the cheap ass people taking advantage.....Yea the beer sooner would have been nice!

PS I still would like to have your truck hint hint!!!

Thats a good idea. I like that $15 price. Nice and simple. Stop a few of the mentioned above. Plus it might get a few more cars in the show that stayed in the parking lot. I probably should have told ya to take the beer.:) But I got some relatives flying in from the east coast they will finish it off.

Oh about the truck...... I'll put you in the line up for when I die.;)

I am so confused. I think Rusty1 said they would like to keep it the week before Fathers Day. I did not look on the calendar yet to figure it out. Someone told me they thought yours was the 1st or 2nd of June yesterday. I just got done looking at your post. They don't have anything set in stone yet that I know of. I will tell them your date before they get carried away. I know there usually is another car show the weekend of fathers day at the place we had ours.

Damn I need a vacation for a week. Maybe go checking out the junkyards down by you.;) I am friggin tired still.

i got a good story, the guy with the bias slicks and the old intakes was selling a holley 94 for 45 dollers. so i was lookin around and had to make some cash (with the stuff i was selling)to get it. i came back to buy it and when i came back it was sold. so later on near the end of the show i was walking by another vender and buried behind a few things out of sight was a damn 94. the kind old woman came over and sold it to me for 20! ohhh yeahhhh saved me 25=)

no one took me up on the beer for parts offer.... damn.

I showed up around 7:30 and left about 8:30. I guess it was ok for a first year show and swap meet. I did find a brake lever for my rod for a $1.00, so it was worth the trip and the gas. The Model T club had a show and swap meet at Boone County for years and but then they desided to stop having it becouse the Car count and swap space count was way down. I was at the last one and it was at least 10 times as big as the Scrap Drive was Sat. So the guys putting it on need to get the word out early and offen so people can bring their cars and stuff to swap. I would have taken a swap space if I had enough time to get things together. But only heard about it a few days before.
Don't get me wrong it was a nice start(but I had hoped it would be bigger),but if they want to do it again they need to get the word out more.

I believe it has been on the HAMB calendar since January. I know for sure there have been postings about it since at least Feb here on the HAMB and there have been fliers out since the end of March.

So what else do we do to "get the word out" ? We must be missing something and would like your imput and sugestions. Really. Please? We can not get better if we don't know how to.

Also, swappers were still coming in around 11:30 while I was at the front gate, if you left at 8:30 you missed 1/2 the swappers. Gene

  28. Breeder & Stick Shift, ...yeah, this puts us in a pickle, we don't wanna have our a show a week earlier(MemorialDay weekend) and the week after is Father's Day and there's already a show at our location established that weekend. ????????????what to do??????
...If we do it the weekend after Fathers Day, we'll be following 2 other swapmeets at the our same location within a month's time.., not so good.....We gotta figure somethin out.........Rusty1

I had a great time. It was a nice drive up Rte 20. Good to have the coupe on a country road again. I really didn't get to see much of the show cause of the band stuff. Got to chat with a few friends, so that was cool in itself. I'm suprised it all ended so early too.

Thanks for all the kind words on our band. It was a pleasure! Our show at Octane in Rockford was cool too. Very polite bar, but it sure looked cool. I got back home at 3am. Talk about a LONG day, playing 2 shows too...

Zach, so you didn't come over for that beer? I'll get you at the next Big C.
