I just wanted to put two of my projects on. The first is a old amt 50 ford conv. made into a hardtop, Bailon style. It uses a 60 vette windshield for a back gl***. Rear quarters are extended and corners are rounded. The black guide coat for my bondo kinda hides some details.
The 48 ford is a old hard to put together IMC model. I glued it all together, except the hood, so it would be more like a old amt one piece body. Still got to cut out the door lines and a lot of block sanding to go. This one will go without skirts and will get a stock 49 merc grille in the hole.
Marc, that stuff is right up my alley, cool. I get a lot of inspiration from other peoples ideas.

Thank God It is Model Car Sunday

oh do i look forward to this day of the week

this week/post is kinda not my style cause normally i wont built stuff thats not pre 48 but anyways
i got the 55 Nomad g***er just about done this week all i need to do to finish is glue the bumpers on and a few other odds and ends

Also finally found me a wally world that has a good selection of models, picked me up a 53 chevy, mpc's repop of the Deora, & a 40 ford standard for the wife to do

i got the 53 knocked out in two nights and ive just about gotten the Deora done i liked the idea of it being moldeed in Yellow so i sprayed a light top coat of Boyd's Yellow Pearl over it and loved the results, grabbed a set of low pros outta the parts bin and white walled em to get my ever so loved ground s****ing stance, its just about ready for final ***embly

the wife on the other hand is getting a crash coasre in body work cause she decided to change her direction on the Merc shes been working on (wont let me post it til it is done) but ill give you a verbal teaser, lol, shes decided to go more of a wild custom route than the before decided very mild kustom. shes going to add a body line kinda like the one posted above and gonna do a complete candy paint job consisting of pink and candy apple red with a pink base
dunno i guess we will have to see what it comes out as

so here is the pics of my progress with the g***er, the 53 and The Deora

okay now that i got my weeks work posted

ill ask this question once again

im building a huge diorama of a Hot Rod Shop, An Old Timey Drive-In and a street scene and im looking for somewhere to purchase figures in 1/25th or G scale

i prefer prepainted simply cause i feel my detail skills arent good enough for me to paint em myself but i will settle on unpainted and give it a try

any one have any info where i can get some ?

oh before i post this i have another question, a few weeks back figiter posted some pics of a car he had built with Radir wheels on it, where did those come from ?

I think those 5 spoke ribbed radars are in the 64 Fairlane Thunderbolt kit, and I've seen those figures are on some of those resin dealers on e-bay from time to time.Type in resin on e-bay. Nice models!

looks nice and i dig what you done to it, oh where did you get that grill at you got in it

oh and also love that a sedan w/ the blown 409, too kool

  18. Carps some good stuff on display there anymore pics, the spinner sure does look like its big brother. Someone did a real good job there.

  19. Hiya Doc, long time no see.

I'm leaving here on July 29th. Headed directly to St Louis to catch up with the gang there.

Mike and I will haed for Louisville on Wed and return to St Louis on Sun arvo.

Monday I'll find my way to DesMoines where I'll meet up with bob K for the trip to Bonneville.

From Bonneville it's back to L.A. (if DRD makes it to B'ville, easy, if not I'll catch a bus or sumpin).

Do whatever seems right leading up to Pleasanton weekend and evenetually head for home on the 30th (day after the NHRA Museum Cruise I believe).

So, I guess, this time around you won't try and run me down, when you see me at whetever cruise night it is we have bot arrived at. ;)

  20. You're right Brett, it looks even more like the big one in person, the camera makes it look like a model, it's much better than that.

Picked up some nice goodies at the Model Expo swap this morning, and sorting the storage space ended up starting another deuce coupe proect, but no photos.

This is all I've been able to get finished lately.

I loved building that altered Tempest kit- you did a much better job on yours!

  23. Thanx, when I opened it I thought it was a bit simple and lacked details. The body is clearly modified from an old Promo and the basic ch***is appears to be generic to a few similar kits.

A little grinding and removal of surplus panels and it works a treat. Didn't take much to bring it up to where I was pretty pleased with the result. Even the painted plastic tyres came out looking OK. In fact I liked it so much I went out and grabbed a couple of other altered wheelbase Falcons from the same source.
