Someone save this 60 Cadillac !!!

I ran across a "junk" 1960 (or maybe a 59) Cadillac 4 door in New Jersey. It's at B&L Towing off the New Jersey Turnpike.

Nobody there at the time knew of its fate...but it looks to be headed for the scrap yard. Lots of good parts. The car appeared pretty complete but rough.

I broke down headed to vacation and got towed there. I took some pictures but haven't been able to download them yet. I'll try later.

Somebody should save it...at least for parts.

 

at least make a couch ot of the back end ig nothin else. i'd LOVE to have the back end off one of those to build into furniture.

Someone pryed the trunk lid open, lid is damaged.

I'd take the fron clip off of it for my Teacher's Desk project if the person who winds up with it doesn't want it. That would be cool as hell as a desk!

 

the rear is worth some dough. i just sold one to guy in poland who is going to make a couch out of it. he gave me 1230.00 and he set up and paid shipping. dont let it go wish i was closer

 

that aint no 59, damn lol the fins on the one i got in the back are rotted off

 

hey look creepily like my old one. i think maybe the guy who got mine could use the back window and the rear bumper!

 

If there is a caddy lover in Jersey, there's another just like that one, except about a '63, all black 4 door in front of American Auto Salvage for sale. They DROVE it in.

 

I've always wanted to do one of those up with a slight chop and suicide rear doors. I think it would look cool.

 

Damn I wish my garage was built.

Funny I have an account with b&l at work and good company relationship with them. They Tow alot of Swift trucks for us.. Maybe I can help someone out in that area.Pm me if someone is interested I can try to make some calls down there.

A big Caddy 4 door from New Jersey...check for bodies in the trunk.

 

Somebody already "checked" the trunk with a crow bar, unfortunately.

It's the fact that they did that and parked that trailer two inches away...that made me figure that it's considered "junk" and destined to be scrapped if nobody intervenes.

 

Thanks for posting this,John56h...it's not traditional,and it's a 4 door,and it's not a flattop,but they stopped making 60 Caddies 47 years ago..Hardly a day goes by that I don't read something on the HAMB about scrap metal to China,yards getting crushed,and the loss of tons of stuff forever..I'm too far away,and the neighbors would torch my house if I brought another one home,but hopefully somebody on here can save it..

im in nj and just listed my burned 1960 coupe for sale in the clasified section you could get both cheap and build a killer car for next to nothing and make a mint on the left over parts.

 

I'd do it if my boss (wife) said go, but that's not gonna happen...sigh

Parts? That's a buildable car. 4 doors, sure, but so what? It looks to be the super top of the line model, that's why it's a 4dr hardtop that's not a flat top. Just add some red wheels, instant rat rod.. lol.. I sure wouldn't try to part it. I have '60 Caddy parts I can't give away.
