Man I love fenderwell headers! So get this. Whoever put headers on this truck cut the original crossmember for clearance. Now this crossmember is no longer needed anyway so it's not a big deal that there was only a quarter inch left on the passenger side. BUT they also beat the back two tubes half closed to clear that crossmember right where they only left a quarter inch to begin with. I think I'm safe saying a BIG WTF here. But it did give us a great excuse to scrap the old headers and install a set of Speedway BBC fenderwell headers. And as you can see we also ditched the radials in fovor of a set of Firestone Wide Ovals and blasted the rust off and painted the outer ring of the Radirs cast grey. I wasn't sure but I really dig the look now.

Her's me smileing as I listen to the sound of a BBC Lumping away through those uncapped fenderwell headers. I don't know if there is a sweeter sound... The exhaust will exit behind the cab very soon though.

The best part of no inner fenders...

Ok so I get my new seat cover and I'm all happy so I start tearing into the box AND... cut the damn thing with my pocket knife :[ So I call the local "guy" and he says he can patch it for $30 and it will look like a patch. OR he can make a new back for $75. Now we were going to recover it our selves but since it was going there anyway I had to ask "How much to just cover it for me as well?" So an even $100 later the seat is back in the truck with a new back and professionally covered. The first time I ever paid anyone to do it. If I'd known how cheap it was I would have done it LONG ago! Also got the new Moon wheel in. Orange metal flake and painted the roll bar.

The Boy really wanted the wheel changed...

We also replaced the 3.23 pegleg with a 3.50 locker and upgraded to 31 spline axles, added a horn, wiper, speedo cable, trans. cooler, new oil pan, fixed a few leaks, put in a neutral safety switch and line lock, added the front bumper etc. The front, inclding the bumper and the white grill, will be blacked out with Kustom Flatz Hotrod black as well as the hood when it arrives.
So it's well on the way. Now we're just waiting for parts :[

The 11" engine setback helps too. But to be fair I did have to take the tire off to get in there :D
