Rumor has it there are gonna be some FAST cars at this years show. 6 second front engine dragsters, 7 & 8 second gassers... The burnout contest again will be held on Saturday & the winner will receive a new set of Micky Thompson racing slicks! That's right $500. worth of brand new tires...........Don't miss it!

Bought my plane ticket last week, getting really psyched! Was lookin' forward to seein' Kevin's 57, but oh well.
Will there be time for a "meet and greet" ? Hopefully on Saturday, cause, that's when me and the boys are rollin' down, from Euclid.
Damn!, just read the flyer again, will have to miss the Pin-up girl contest. Hope one of you perverts, post some pics.
Guess I'll be representing the Orlando Rumblers. Nads finally gave me my "prospect" t-shirt. Now all I have to do is steal some hubcaps and sacrfice a virgin.

It will be GREAT seeing you again bud. As far as a Meet & Greet. I'll get with LuckyDevil and see what spot he suggests and make a Meet & Greet post when the time gets alittle closer.

 

Thanks Denise. I think the best place for a meet & greet would be at the stage. As long as we do it before the bands play there should be pleanty of room. Let me know what I can do to help...It's only 2 weeks away!

Hey Jim, how strict will tech be? Since I am running a stock '36 radiator, I have no provision for a catch can as the system is not pressurized.

I assume I'll have to bring a helmet too?

what about a battery box inside the car. I have a lid but it doesn't "secure" itself.

 

Denise, Bands start at 8PM Friday, 6PM Saturday & 3PM Sunday with a special 12PM Sunday show by Uncle Scratches Gospel Revival, just in case anyone is feeling guilty about missing church.

Django, The tech is a really simple tech. They will check to see that you have all your lug nuts, a seat belt and look to see if you are leaking any large puddles of oil, trans fluid, etc. You will need a helmet if you are running a roadster or faster than 14.00 in the quarter mile. The catch can won't be a problem unless you are overflowing every time you are on the track. The battery box will be fine. Trust me tech is not an issue. Not one person got turned away last year. The owners of the track are old hotrodders from way back. They go out of there way to make sure anyone who wants to race can race. Weather that means helping you to get your car to pass tech or renting you a helmet.

 

Can you recommend a nice (Holiday Inn Express or Baymont type) hotel in the area? Where is eveyone else staying??

If you mention "The Rock & Race" you will get a discounted room rate. Last time I checked there were about 30 rooms left but that was a couple of weeks ago. You can also camp at the track for free.

 

Django, last year they were pretty good on the tech, i put a catch can on my 50 chev, but they never checked. I think you only have to have a helmet if your car is 14 sec or quicker. YOU MUST HAVE SEAT BELTS!!! That is the one thing they did check. This is a great show, hope to see a lot of Hambers there!
