If your paint job is worth more than I make in a year.I'd like to see what you got for your money.

yep...it's what you DON'T see that makes it.

Buddy of mine does high dollar paint. His theory on it is, "make it so right that they'll quit looking for flaws."

Paint really doesn't have that much to do with it, it's all prep work that makes for perfection. That is were the cost is.

What's the point of this? The cost of a good paint job is in prep and finish work. The stuff a picture wouldn't show you and the stuff regular joes don't know exists.

I've spent the last 5 hours blocking on a tank & fender for a bike for another hamber, and it hasn't even gotten any high build sprayed on it yet. The prep work and post paint cut & buff is what makes a paint job...I get to spray primer later tonight and then I'll get to block some more, then flake, then more blocking, then candy & clear, and yet more blocking, then buffing!

The points some jerk said his paint job was worth more than I make in a year and I was was wondering what it looked like.I spent a good portion of my 20s and 30s doing custom paint work.I gave it up for tattooing because most of the assholes that could afford the paint jobs, I didn't want to work for.I'm looking to see that one job that is worth more than I make in a year.

I gave up tattooing to paint cars! Car's don't squirm and bleed on me while I work!

Maybe you should just pm the person that said that to you?

Here ya go Dick---I believe this is the car in question---borrowed from Bad Bobs event photos.
Jeff has no idea of who you are or what you make, your comment must have just gotten under his skin, especially since they were hosting the show and it had to be frustrating not only having your car scratched but as hosts not being able to crowd control what happens to others cars as well.

I never thought I would see a thread like this on the HAMB. Whatever happened to Rustoleum? $4.00/can.
