I was driving home today with the windows down, experiencing the 110 degree Phoenix City air roiling through the open windows of my truck when I starting thinking about the swamp cooler that I didn't buy at a swap meet a while back. It was a later-model box-style that plugged into your cigarette lighter and sat on the floor boards instead of in the window. It was in phenomenal condition, and I could actually afford it, but my truck wasn't running at the time, and I was looking for other parts. Of course, now I can't find one. Boy, I should have gotten it! Then I started thinking about all the other treasures that I didn't buy. Needless to say, it was a long drive home. Any other regrets out there?
Not buying a 56 Desoto for an awesome price, and trading a beautiful 53 Buick all done for a 51 shoebox Ford that needed alot still left to be done. I think we all have been there at one time or another. Take care, Rags
I regret passing deals on to buddy's who only turned around and SOLD the parts!!! Then there was the .....ahh never mind.
I never had the money for the parts I should have bought, so I've forgotten what they were. Whatever I've sold over the years I sold at market price so there are no regrets.
Selling my early hemi a few months back...and not being able to find parts for my Sneaky Pete Robinson Southwind dragster replica...
I remember walking by a guy at the Barrie flea market with a '50 Ford crestliner/accessory wheel in restorable condition for $300.00 three years ago. I passed on it. A decent horn rings brings $500-600 now.
A matching pair of Stromberg 48s in the rough.... I didn't ask, but they were no doubtedly going for a song Flatman
The Year: 1991. The Person: My Father The Car: 1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible The Price: $12,000 My mom said no. It's still taboo to talk about. And I'm not shitting you
I was selling off some of my deceased father's stuff at the New Braunfels Swapmeet last April. I had some fenders that had been in the shed for years, and I was planning to sell them. Unfortunately, I didn't know what they fit. They were chromed, and the fenders on Dad's Guzzi and Triumph were painted. My old Japanese stuff I had years ago all had chrome fenders, so I figured these were probably 70s Japanese stuff. I sold all three fenders to a guy for $20. Then he told me that 2 were Triumph fenders... Mom could have used the money I could have gotten if I had know what they were worth. Slonaker
