I'm looking for info on the 63 pontiac 389 4bl 235hp i have one thats been rebuilt w/400 heads i'm not a pontiac person so i want to sell it but dont know what to ask for it.If anyone could shed some light on this it would be apreciated.
I don't think there was a 4 bl 235 hp in '63, the 4 bl was rated at least 303 hp. More likely it's the low compression 'economy' 2 bl 389. Also not sure about the 400 heads being on that block, believe it would take some mods and the later 65 & up intake in order to bolt together. The '63 389 blocks also aren't drilled for a block mounted starter so you have to use an adapter to run a th350\400 trans.
