I'm contemplating a truck project and don't want to use a Mustang II conversion. Has anyone used a Dakota frame under a '48-'52 Ford truck? I know the front suspension is used with the aftermarket crossmember. Or, can a Dakota front frame section/suspension be grafted to the original Ford frame similar to using a Nova subframe? What kind of clearance issues are encountered dropping a Chevy small block in this combination?

if your good at welding, cutting, and fabing, and can read a ruler the swap should be no real trouble, you should have alot less trouble because the front frame rails on the dakota frame should be fairly straight, and alittle higher then car frame rails so clearance problems on things should me at a min.
