Hello, I am running a 401 nailhead in my 29 Model A RPU. I am currently running a singel four barrel but would like to change it down the road and also need to dress it up a bit with a more vintage look. Please post any ideas or pictures you may have of your own, thanks.

It don't get much more hotrod than a nailhead with six twos...although some flathead guys may disagree!
I haven't had it on the road yet, but it's all rebuilt and ready to go. I put it in so my Pops, whose in a wheelchair, can drive it with hand controls.
My old 59 Invicta with the 445 Wildcat Special used to smoke the 9.55 X 15's just fine with the Dynaflush. Look here for a quickie on the switch pitch http://buickperformance.com/switchpitch.htm
Rock on brother!! I just bought a 56 Buick with a 322 dyna in it for my pops too. He can't drive a stick (TB survivor from the 40's with a fused right hip.) so I shopped the **** outta the automatics. I can't wait to see him behind the wheel!
The Buick performance version of the Dynaflow. Much better acceleration than the "Dynaslush" due to a stator solenoid that kicks in when you floor it and makes the convertor act like a high stall versus when you are cruising it is acting like a fluid coupler or a low stall. In a nutshell... kinda... I think. LOL Anyway, here's a pic of the 322 in my roadster. Dave
say what? yeah they both have a torque converter that changes. The dynaflow is variable where the SP is a switch from one stall to another. And the SP400 is a 3 speed automatic. The Dynaflow is a 1 speed (in drive) with a variable torque converter. So I'd have to say your "The Buick performance version of the Dynaflow." is way off base.
Yep, I screwed the pooch on that one. I was thinkin "variable pitch" not "switch pitch". Better get my pitches straight and my behavior under control.
Here's a few 401's I've run...in my old '33 P/U w/lakes pipes, my old '31 C-dan w/weedburners, the some-day drag engine and the 401 going in the Cannon Ball...I hate Nailheads!
