Here are some pics ( took over 700 ) from the HHR .... I really hope some of you enjoy them before the bashing begins ....
Great pic's, thanks for posting them and can't wait to see the rest. Love that little red ford truck in the first shot. I seen it when he first brought it out at Indy G.G. few years back, that Y block has a sound all it's own. Gary
I was there Friday and Saturday also. There must have been a hundred G***ers on the grounds. The vintage racecar area was packed with a lot of significant cars in various states of restoration and preservation. There were impressive fields for both Top Fuel and Funnycar. And did I mention G***ers? Weather was perfect both days and the event was well-attended. First time I have been to National Trail and I have to say it is easy to access and a lot nicer than I was led to believe. Lots of cars in the show field also. For you old Super Stock guys there were two things that really impressed. First was a '67 Fairlane out of West Virginia running in the 8's! When that thing hit second it just SHOT forward. Secondly was watching Mr. 409('63 Impala) come off the line with Carolina Thunder('62 Belair). Both cars lift the left front about 2-ft higher than the right front(and that one is 2-ft off the ground!). It was a great time and I look forward to the rest of those pictures.
Al, thanks for posting. I don't know how you did get the energy to do this as when I got home last night, I just said "good night!" I havent even looked at my own photos as yet.
