My Dad, brother and I all own Model A's. My Dad bought his roadster years ago, but never did much wih it, I bought my 30 coupe early in the year and my Brother just bought his two weeks ago at a yard sale. Mine runs and I drive it quite offen, but my brothers came partially disasembled. The story on his is it was a runner, but was started on a restoration and never progressed. So, when I asked my pop what he wanted to do on Fathers day, he said "Lets all work on our Model A's togeather!" I installed new door gl*** and channels, my dad got some wiring done and a new generator on and charging, and my brother dumped his engine and ****** in and we got it running!!!! Hopefully in the next month or so, we'll all be driving our Beater A's around! Happy Fathers day to all dads, especially mine for gettin' me into cars! Enjoy the pics. Chris
AWESOME, I sure wish my dad were still around to be doing it with me still. He is here with me every day in my heart and soul, and when reach in the tool box, his hand is there with mine pickingup the tool, or making sure I get the right one the first time. RIP Bill Modglin Miss you much dad... You guys live it while you can, I lost my dad in 2004, and we were gearheads together for life.....
Thanks 5 window, my Dad, brother and I are all best friends and I dread the day that the 3 of us gets split up...but just remember all the good times!
Very cool Chris. Thanks for the pics. Good way to spend the day. ...and I see more than model A's in the pics. What are the rest of the cars under the covers? Keith
Great story Chris. Many of us would like to have one close family member enjoy this hobby with us, to have two that close that do is about as good as it gets. Congrats, and it's good to know you understand how fortunate you are.
The two cars next to the house are my Dads 38 Sedan and my 39 coupe, and the cars next to the fence are my brother's 39 coupe and 27 touring, and my Dads 35 and 37 Pickup (all Fords). Were not exactly car poor.
Chris, I envy your relationship with your dad and bro. I only had a sister and dad never thought much of me. Keep enjoying your time with these two. Enjoy the trio of Model "A"'s ! 41 Dave
Wow Chris, guess one could say that ya'll are a bunch of A.... Nevermind...I'm just joking. What a great relationship and what a great father's day celebration. I can still remember my Dad thrashing on my ole 55 Chevy with the rest of us. He'd always complain about us working on cars in his driveway but he was the first one helping us out. Dad always kept things to himself but you could tell he got a kick out of it. The last project my Dad and I did was swapping motors in my ole Chevy van in the August heat of South Texas. If you've ever done a van motor swap, you can appreciate how hard this was for us. Dad wasn't in the best of condition at his age but, he still got out there and handed me tools and did other stuff to help as best he could. I'd put those pics up on the wall and cherish them always. About ten years after he dies, you will look at them and smile with pride at what ya'll had together. Your very fortunate. Thanks for sharing. Aman.
I forgot to add....My brother needs a 30/31 windshield frame. His car came with a 28/29, and would gladly buy or trade if anyone has one! Chris
Chris....I have a very rough one you can have, has gl***, but cracked,.....next time you get over this way, gimme a shout if ya want it.
yeah, and i could use one also! great stuff there man!!!! i wish dad was here to see my coupe come together...your a lucky man!!!!!
I'll tell him, may be over that way in a month or so. I have the feeling he wants a pretty nice one, but you never know. Thanks a lot! Chris
