Drake has a kit that looks factory, not a cobbled up add on. Check it out.

i used one of theirs in my 51 chevy pickup mounted pretty easy.
make sure you mount it before you mount anything under the dash.

Hot rodder, I have a 41 that I want to do the same thing as your doing. I don't have any specifics yet, but I found an old VW bug wind shield wiper motor that is pretty compact looking that Imay try to use.

Just fitted a 6volt electric wiper motor to my wife,s 54 Chevy, took off the vacuum motor and made a bracket to hold the electric one also made up a little adaptor and welded it to the shaft on the electric motor ,works great.

Had a Specialty unit on a 46 Ford and it was worthless. Had to use RainX anyway. Keep your vacuum unit, save $$$$$ and use RainX. Spend your money on something worthwhile.

I DON'T SEE WHY IT WOULD MAKE IT A "KIT CAR" BY PUTTING SOMETHING "NEW" ON IT

IF IT IS A SAFETY ITEMS SUCH AS BRAKES, STEERING, AND WIPERS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IT WOULD BE WORTH WILD TO HAVE PARTS THAT WILL WORK. NOT OLD JUNK. PUTTING ON A NEW PART HERE OR THERE DOESN'T MAKE IT A "KIT CAR"

USE WHAT YOU WANT. I DON'T HAVE ALL KINDS OF MONEY TO DUMP INTO NEW PARTS BUT THERE ARE A FEW THAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WILL WORK WHEN I NEED THEM.....PEACE OF MIND IS WORTH A LITTLE EXTRA MONEY IN MY BOOK

i run a new wiper motor i pick up at a surplus store here called princess auto, it was about $19, has 2 speeds and park, i only run one switch on low speed and time my shut off so the wiper ends up where i want it to stop, i made my linkage out of old carb linkage and then welded an arm to the wiper shaft.works great, one day i`m going to run 2 wiper and hide my motor under the header panel.

I really want to thank all that responded to my windshield wiper question--you all gave me some great ideas & i really appreciate it---the hardest part of being an old rodder is most of the parts you would have used before are either not around anymore and besides --who keeps up with the new car ****--the best part of hotrodding is to find a part & make it work--the pleasure you get outta building a car the old way is tremendous--& when it does what you want it to---thats heaven---nothing better than cruising around in something you built--again --thank you----long live the hamb
