Way to go Rocky, you deserve the best deal, after putting up with all the headaches from being classified editor!!!
Karma man, Karma. After roaming the classifieds with a big sword, looks like you got the good juice. I wonder if anyone is going to ask you what the 'low' position on your airbags is like?
Great score Rocky!!! Good looking truck and 4 wheel drive to boot. Has momma rocky got to go for a ride in it yet??? Better watch her or she will be the one riding and styling!!! See 'ya at the hamb drags this year for sure.
I know you and you'll be off loading it shortly. You need to call me first. A truck like that BELONGS in OKLAHOMA. I promise not to bury it in an underground swimming pool and everything.
Jim.....the heater is an aftermarket old-timey box-style with about 29 opening doors and holes in both sides for defroster hoses. The factory defroster ducts are in place too.I jump-wired it last night and the old 6 volt fan motor sounds like a fuckin Cessna getting ready for takeoff! Talk about blowing some air! The heater hoses are already hooked up so I gots to splice in a dodge pickup cable-operated water valve to shut the bastid off in hot weather. The old cab is pretty tight and all the windows seal pretty good. It shoud be very comfortable this winter. It gets a tad bit colder here than in Happy-Rock, believe me. I've lived mucho years in both places.. What a kick-ass winter beater...heh heh..
No way, Rashmaster...I'll be buried in this mo-fo. I'll keep it forever! I'm so old, I don't have time to build another like it.
Rocky, Nice looking truck. I thought the box heater on my truck would keep it warm inside too, it works great in the summer. Too bad there is no way to be sure until its too late. On my 50, the defroster sucks and you have to drive it about 5 miles before it starts to get warm inside, unless your going down the highway, then it will only warm up enough to take the chill off the air. I've got new window and door seals, insolation on the firewall, roof, the back of the cab, and on the floor. Wipers on mine suck too. Just a few things to check before the snow flies. Mine doesn't fit in my 7' garage door so I have to do everything outside, its a bitch in the winter. Gene
Sometime in the next few days someone will tell Rocky the true story behind the truck. It belonged to a serial killer who used it to haul body parts back in the woods to bury them and is now haunted by the souls who made their last ride in the bed of this truck. Maybe that killer possesses the truck and on moonlit nights, takes the truck for a drive. Nothing a Bible, some holy water and a crucifix can't take care of. Well at least it would explain the cheap price.
Damn! Rashy beat me to the mud flap joke! That is a ridiculous deal for a fun romper with some style... congrats! One tip: check the frame where the steering box is mounted... the holes are notorious for fatiguing and cracking, especially after a lift and shoving big wheels & tires around. ...oh, and I second the steelies and skinny knobbys for a nice Power Wagon look!
Rashy, I know where you can get another 59 El camino that is all up on a 4wd chassis. Nice score Rocky! I think one of those old suburbans or the dodge equivalent would be cool to have up on a blazer chassis. That is jut the redneck in me I reckon'. There is an old jeep wagoneer that is up on a blazer chassis that crusies around here. I think it is kinda cool...
